Recently, I got myself a Puluz camera cooling fan to cool off my Pocket 2 when filming for extended periods of time and charging it with an external power bank as well at the same time. While the cooling fan has proven to be an excellent remedy for the overheating problem in this scenario, I did have some problems attaching the fan right next to the Pocket 2 in a firm and reliable manner. An elastic rubber band did somewhat work, but it does feel like somewhat risky solution, and certainly not that professional looking.

investigating the issue, I ended up buying a SmallRig cheese plate, some screws and thread adapters and using them to connect the Pocket 2 and the cooling fan together. I also ended up addping a couple more elements from the parts and adapters lying around in my apartment for monitoring, audio and spare power, and ended up with this:

Have you built separate rigs for your Pocket 2 or similar cameras? How did they turn out? What kinds of thoughts do my rig provoke in you? What works, what could be better?

Thanks in advance for the comments!

Thanks, I'll see what else I can come up with using that cheeseplate. For instance, I found out a way to make a 3D-capable rig with it using two small cameras. So I can now create 3D content for my TV and my projector (I know it's a niche thing nowadays, but I still am a fan)

Thanks, creating the build was surprisingly easy after all, just needed to find the right store for buying the parts.

That brings back some memories,   some years ago I experimented with taking/making photos that were 3d like that.   Id forgotten all about it,  I might have to revisit that.

Yes, some careful planning and consideration needed there.

Here's an example of apples and lemons on a serving board in 3d.  You'll need those paper glasses.

Looks pretty cool already like this, will have to see how it looks with the anaglyph glasses once I get my hands on some (some of my DVDs came with those kind of glasses, but currently they are stored in another address. Will have to get them moved soon.)

For my next trick Im in the process of setting up a weeks long Timelapse with the pocket 3.     Fingers crossed that works.

Yes, some careful planning and consideration needed there.

That is usually the case with DIY jobs (for me at least)

Sure seems like a challenge. Plan very carefully and you'll thank yourself later. I do find it a bit pesky that the Pocket series cannot be used directly from the AC adapter, having that possibility would make many things way easier.

Applies to me as well, and often, something still goes wrong

Mine is currently running from AC power.    Well a phone charger plugged into the pocket and the wall.

I never make mistakes, however I often discover new ways that don't work.

And you are not having problems from overheating? Maybe they have made it better with the Pocket 3.

Im pin day 3 of filming now,   I dropped the resolution to 2.7k due to SD card space but so far so good it seems.
