That's a bit of overkill I'd say.  1 year old would probably be more interested in just eating the cake.

Didn't happen with my kids.  Small parties with closest friends is what they got.  Pool party at home or maybe a cook-out at the local park.  I was always taught to be frugal with my money and I've passed that along to my kids and grandkids as much as I can.  

Bright and colourful. I bet the kids love it. Were you tempted to have a go?

At least the youngest grandson has caught on quickly.  We were at the bowling alley recently and one of his friends said I need a new bowling ball so I can bowl better.  My grandson told him no you "want" a new ball but don't need one.  They got into a good discussion about need versus want.  He is very frugal with his birthday money.

It certainly is.  I try to impart sound financial info to him as they get zero of that type of information in school.

With all of the marketing messaging they get bombarding them to be hyper-consumers, someone hase to impart that advice.

It's not entirely clear what they are considering yet,  but they are feeling the push back from all those who were demoted.

They are supposed to be weighted down with sand bags, and they don't go up over certain wind speeds.
