Thanks. I got locked out of airspace at that last construction site because I put the wrong remote controller in the DJI Fly safe app and it delayed me an hour. So today I want to a different restricted airspace to make sure it would work. Two ships passes while I was testing and I got a few shots, because teat's the addict I am.

Boats and rivers always score highly on the scale of photogenics.
In my view, at any rate

Industrial views have their own fascination. It attracts a different sect. We get more male fans.

I think that, on the forum too, the viewers and participants are predominantly male.
With a few pretty talented exceptions

It's true. And the women that work with drone are few and very talented.

Great pic - I wonder what the ladders are for on the deck - maybe a window cleaner

Really nice capture.    You've got to love tugs because without them many ships would be stranded.  Tug really don't get the credit they deserve.

It's an art. They are strong boats.  You have to respect the power behind them.

You're absolutely right about being powerful boats.  You can't let the size fool you.  I observed a Navy fleet tug towing an aircraft carrier back into North Island (San Diego).  Talk about a size difference there.

I can't imagine the welding that holds the steel bar thet fastens the ropes. Imagen the stress on those.

They were using double cables.  the problem was also they were experiencing headwinds of 30 miles per hour.  So with the headwinds and the weight of the Aircraft Carrier they were barely able at times to make enough knots to keep steerage.  It was one long trip back into port.

Was not a good time to be on that tug for sure.  Long shifts and plenty of extra watches had to be stood.

I was on an Oiler that was sent out to ensure the Tugboat had enough fuel for the entire tow.

I was conducting a JAG Investigation onboard the Oiler in port but then they had to get underway to meet the Tug and conduct an underway replenishment and then tag along until they returned to San Diego.  So I finished my investigation while underway and then just had free time to watch the ongoing tow.

It was an interesting evolution to observe.  The gusting winds really made it a tougher tow than it should have been.

That wind seems to get in the way for air and sea.

It definitely does.  On a couple of occasions that I took my big boat down to the Caribbean and across the Bermuda Triangle the winds tend to kick up out of nowhere.   The problem with wind at sea is you have no place to hide from it either.

Before I go anywhere in the Caribbean I check the marine forecast closely and also consult the weather station that I have onboard my mini-yacht.  If the two don't corroborate then I contact my buddy at the Coast Guard.  Too many unexplained events have happened in the Bermuda Triangle and I don't want to be added to those stories.

The weather truly is strange in that area and swells tend to just come up out of nowhere. You really have to be alert when transiting that area.

Indeed it is.  Some people refer to it as the Devil's Triangle.  This area covers about 500,000 square miles of ocean.

One place I'd be more worried about is the South Atlantic Anomaly.  The South Atlantic Anomaly is a part of Earth where natural radiation flows out of control.
