Crash was due to pilot error. Trail flying. 7 batteries without anything close to an incident. I think the rates are at max for S mode. Saw a gap in the tree canopy and tried too shoot through it. Next time I think I'll approach such "gaps" very slowly. Must of clipped a tiny branch. Avata2(A2) went tumbling down to earth from ~10 meters landing on a soft surface covered in leaves. At least I got to try out the "Find My Drone" feature and finally sync the drone to the app. Only damage was port side front propeller needing replacement. Chunk of one blade was missing.
Have the unit set for "Auto" channel selection. Assuming the "better" choice for maintaining the most solid connections?
Anyone know based on the original Avata how many hours before the stress of flying fatigue the propellers?
Need to set the RTH altitude at 90 meters to clear the taller trees uphill from the launch pad. Pucker moment while finishing off the last battery trail flying. 1km short. Low battery RTH kicked in. Didn't want to sky into another tree. Hit the lock button. Not sure if I held it or just tapped it couple times. Auto landing kicked in. Relief. Time to go read another section of the User's Manual.
Have a real issue trying to fly over my neighbors orchard. Go from 60 to <10 Mbs of strength in a blink. Almost like a wall of interference when above the treeline. Today, dipped below the treeline before hitting the weak signal wall. Strength dropped due to trees, but stayed in the teens. Mystified why. Flying N of my 40 there is another section that the signal strenght drops rapidly, but not into the critical Red and not as sudden. Reminds me of the hidden fences used to contain pet dogs.
