I am not Autumn but I can answer this question for you. The answer is yes, you can use the Inspires camera the X3 on the OSMO mount.

Would love to know if you can power/charge the OSMO through the Micro USB port, which I think is important considering the low battery life. My guess is NO because the port is on the back of the camera head. Anyone know the answer to this? Cheers.

Have any of these actually shipped yet?  I ordered mine on the 9th and a week later got a message saying that it would be an additional 10-15 days before shipping.

I ordered on the 8th and mine has not shipped yet.

It is, but they are backordered. I think they had a higher demand than they anticipated.

I can understand demand.  Do you think DJI has shipped any?  If I remember - they were supposed to start shipping the 15th.

To address the issue of not being able to upgrade on a mac, that's not entirely accurate. You can install a virtual Windows 10 on a mac, like I have, although I use it to develop applications, you can also use it to upgrade DJI products and run other applications that you can't run on a OS X. The process is fairly easy and quick.

i'm going to take a guess and say that it doesn't have zoom capabilities, right?

Very true. I do not do that but my friend does.
I have a Apple and a Windows machine.

Is it true that the mic on the stick is useless because its misplaced near the fan?? I know you can connect a external mic but the more things I have to attach the more unusable it gets.

I tried to order an Osmo from DJI a few weeks ago. Only found out this week that it wouldn't be shipped for a month. Canceled order. I couldn't be more dissapointed with DJI for not posting delivery delays or being available to answer questions. I did try calling and was on hold for over 25 minutes only to be told that since I had ordered on line, that they couldn't help me. I left a message with their chat service and never got contacted. My boss finally chatted with someone days later and found out the delay and canceled the order. For a company that makes cutting edge products, their sales and service have much to be desired.

The Osmo looks so promising, but how can a handheld gimbal app be the same app as for the flying camera platform?  There are a number of features of the Phantom/Inspire app that make no sense for the handheld gimbal, for example, telemetry...how does that fit into the Osmo hardware?  Take-off, landing, RC calibration...IMU settings???  It would seem there should be a separate app for the OSMO.  I really haven't seen any explanation as far as how the GO app is used with the Osmo other than..."control your camera with the DJI GO App."  What, is the Osmo going to take off for a few hundred feet and need to have a Go Home feature?  So far, I have bought two Osmos because I love the Phantom 3 so much, but I think there needs to be some enlightenment on how the same app is going to work for a handheld gimbal?

Sad to say, but the truth is that Osmo 1 is going to be a test model. All this horrible stuff will be improved on Osmo 2.

Agree. We owners are the Guinea pigs for this first gen osmo. I wonder who were their beta testers. Dji should fire them all!

Enjoying mine and if I'm a Guinea Pig, so be it.  Yes the mic is useless but the mic jack is not.

Have you tried out the external mic input yet? It seems the Osmo has its own temperament. I have tried out 3 ext mics already & all produce the same results. Sometimes it will work, other times it will not work. It's a hit or miss & I'm not alone. So frustrating! Hopefully, after the latest FW update, the problem will be resolved.

I wonder, too. When is the Osmo (handle only) going to be released? I pre-booked some months ago from a Swedish DJI dealer.

@DJI, any comment on the above post that the Inspire X3 will not work with the Osmo handle? Is a DJI Go and firmware update needed or is there a deeper hardware problem with this?

I got notice from my Swedish dealer that the Osmo handle is expected to arrive week 47.

I will look into it. I am not on the Osmo support team and I do not have one myself yet so I do not know much about it.
I have not heard of this problem, last I heard all was ok with it.

Thanks Dave, I have one on order and decided to cancel my order last night.  I reordered the OSMO complete unit instead of handle set only. The reason I changed my mind is, I would like to keep my Inspire 1 and X3 camera ready and complete at all times. I do not want to take a chance of damaging my I1 camera on the hand held mount.

Yep, right now it is not currently compatible. I agree with your thinking. When I get one I will get the complete unit, so that the Inspire is ready at all times. I also do not want to be on a job and taking the time to switch out cameras. I also do not think it is a good idea to be taking the X3 on and off all the time. That increases the chance of damaging the connection pins.
