So for people who are updating their firmware through an Android phone, and flying with an iPad.  I understood it that there are different versions of the App, one version for iOS and another version for Android?  If that's true, then how are ya'll updating the iOS app with an Android phone?

You have to go to a different forum called inspire pilots...easy to find. In the help section there is a thread on the RC issues specifically. It hasn't worked for me, but has for others.

I'm still without any video signal. I can even control, the camera via the screen on the app but no image at all.

I'm prob going to have to try a new camera under warranty..

Hi guys i need some assistance from season drone vets.

1. i was flying my drone 11/7/15 and i was not able to record or take any photos from the app or from the remote control.
2. once the drone was in the air it constantly kept switching from video to photo mode without me manually setting it ( i was in a free fly zone,no magnetic interference )
3. the iso kept jumping from 1600 to 100
4. i cannot activate the IOC ( advance settings+multiple flight mode on but the enable IOC is grayed out ) i still can't activate it when my settings are in F-mode + course lock is activated )
this is a problem.
Just so you know,
(a) i'm using a LG G3 smartphone . Never had a problem before
(b) I never lost video on the app when flying , it just keep switching from video settings to photo on its own with out me manually changing it
(c) current firmware - APP ANDROID VERSION 2.4.0   FIRMWARE V P3X_FW_V01.04.0010.bin  RC FIRMWARE 1.4.3.0
      
i thought this was due to me not updating the RC remote to the latest firmware ( because the new features benefit the inspire 1 and not my Phantom 3 ) so i went ahead and update it today 11/8/15 and took the drone out for a test flight but the problem continued more than before. I changed the sd card,reset all the settings and this problem still persist .
This is a major issue
what are your suggestions for resolving these problems. Thanks for your help in advance

That does not sound like something you're going to be able to fix yourself. Unfortunately I believe you will need to send the  unit in for repair.

I am so confused.
I am running ISO 8 on an I Pad 2 mini, using Go app version 2.3. with firmware version 1.3 I have resisted updating to ISO 9 and the latest GO app version because of instabilities in the app with ISO 9 as detailed on the DJI forum.
Using this set up I had zero problems.
I have recently updated the RC only (or so I thought) to version 1.4.3 via the Go app, but it transpires the app also updated the firmware to the latest version, 1.4.00.10.
The aircraft now looses video signal , the app locks up.
I am at a loss what to do. Shall I update everything or should I revert back to what I know works.
If that is the case how do I de-install the RC and Aircraft firmware? I have the previous versions down loaded to key computer.
Please help - It's so frustrating!

I am DJI Technical Support, but I am only Tech Support on the forums. I do not work at any of the call centers. Not that that matters much, just for your information.
I would recommend you go ahead and call the Phone Tech Support. It does not hurt to get a second opinion, especially with the trouble you are having. I am pretty sure they will also tell you to send it in, but they might have an idea of something you could try first, that I did not think of... Ok to be a newbie, we were all newbies at some time in our lives.

You can downgrade your RC and Aircraft firmware by going to the DJI website and downloading the older firmware, the previous version. Then just install that firmware as you would if it were new firmware. Follow the directions in the pdf document with the instructions for updating firmware.

Directions to the IPA files for redoing the Go App.

On Mac OS you can find the IPA files by opening your "Finder" then click on Go in upper left corner then scroll down to Home. Click on Music folder, then on iTunes then on iTunes media (if you have not moved the iTunes media that is, some move it to an external drive due to its size) , then click on mobile applications folder. You will then see your IPA files.
This will work if you downloaded the Go app with your Mac computer. If you did not and you downloaded it from your iPad or iPhone they (IPA files) will not be there . If you have not put the 2.4 Go App on your iPad yet you can back up your iPad to your Mac with the 2.3 Go App if you have it. (you will not have it if you have "auto updates turned on" before back up it will ask you to "down load purchases from your iPad to your Mac" say "Yes". This will put a copy of the app on your Mac in your iTunes and a copy of the IPA files in the location I have described.
But if you have updraded the App in iTunes you will find the older version in the recycle bin if you have not deletet it! Otherwise, maybe you have a backup from the older files in your backup from the TimeMachine? (it you have TimeMachine turned on.
Then if all is working you can try putting on 2.4 knowing you have a copy of 2.3.

1. delete V2.4.0 GO App on your device
2. delete V2.4.0 GO App in iTunes folder (mentioned above)
3. copy V2.3.0 to this iTunes folder
3. open iTunes and you will see the old App
4. install V2.3.0 to your device via iTunes and sync it.

just bought a (5 months old with ~5hrs flight on it)  pro3 from the widow of a deceased aquaintancee last week and experienced the very same problems as described above, but aditionally have the problem, that the 2.40 app on neither of my iphones/ipads even seems to find the rc at all. All i get is the startscreen with that "howto"-link, but no "cameraview"-button on all my IOS devices (all on 9.1).

I've tried on my S4 mini (didn't work either) and then in a final attempt on my old S3, where at least i was able to enter the cameraview. I was prompted to ugrade the controller, which according to the manual indeed should have been successful, but left me with a nonresponsive connection on the S3 as well (can still enter cameraview, but says "disconnected" now).

So now I have half a dozen mobiles/tablets including a brandnew Ipad mini 2, which I bought yesterday for no other purpose than for the P3, and still can't fly.  RC and bird obviously are still paired, I can start engines and probably could start flying without video, but then that's not what I bought it for. THAT I did with my old P1 for two years....

What now? I have no 2.30 app for either IOS nor Android, the rc seems to do nothing when trying to downgrade to 1.03.020 nor upgrade to 1.04.030 via USB, the bird seem to have accepted 1.04.0010, although I'm not sure as the messages in the txt are somewhat irritating. (see below, which is just the last few lines of the *.txt)

Thanks Dave, I am already on V2.3 so I will back it up just in case before I update, thats a big help. What about updating as yet to IOS 9? and how can I roll back to the previous RC version? Please see my previous post. Can you shed any light on my problem?

I am not sure I follow you. The RC and The aircraft have the latest firmware according to the app. I updated the RC firmware via the app and it also updated the aircraft which I didn't want. I now want to downgrade the firmware in the aircraft to the previous version which was problem free. This previous version is still on sd card in the aircraft so how can I do this, surely i need to remove the latest version of the aircraft and the RC firmware and the put the sd card back in?

Try taking off the firmware on the sd card reinstall the old firmware on the sd card. then put the sd card back in and see if it starts to update.

You can get the older firmware from the download page on the DJI website.

Funny thing, im on a safe side, i dont go balls to the wall, so i flew short distance for like a month,then update,and finally felt comfortable, btw im comparing it with my stock vision,which did 3200 on a stock remote,and it didnt stop there,i just didn't want to go farther
