Ken I respect you in every way as you are a very prompt and knowledgeable DJI employee and trouble ...

They are working on a firmware solution, if you send it in because you cannot eliminate the vibrations with all the things I've said to try then the fix for now is to install the newer motors and control board.
So if you can verify that you have the vibrations and cannot get rid of them, then you get your Phantom upgraded for free.

Yes, if they see vibrations, new motors and control board if they cannot fix it.

Now I'm really frustrated. My phantom just came back from germany service center after two weeks. They changed the gimbal due to horizon drift issue, but as soon as I started the motors and hovered, the terrible wobble was still present! They haven't done anything to fix this problem. They definitely didn't change the motors to the new ones. Still grounded

Nope, it's around 12 degrees celsius or  53 fahrenheit. They obviously haven't done anything. The motors are the same, the firmware is the same, the vibration are the same.

Multiple test flights today. DJI GO 2.5.1, FW 1.6, p mode, gains 80, 80 80, 90, IMU cal, gimbal cal, compass cal., 60 deg F, light winds, (old motor P3P)

Didn't get past hover testing.  Probably going to do an warranty return on Monday. I just can't get this P3P stable  enough to trust flying it again. I have been very disappointed since upgrading to FW 1.5 and 1.6. It was so stable and reliable at FW 1.4 and below.

I just got my P3A and vent from 1.1.9+ to 1.4 and 1.6 + RC update. All on latest FW. No a single issue so far. But some folks videos do look like some drones having an issue. Inability to roll back helps with going forward, but it makes folks live way harder and complicates diagnostic: is it craft? or component ?, or configuration? or FW? All we know they updated it and this is started. Also some folks are going incremental, and some like me just make a huge jumps. Maybe some bugs are result of incremental updates and etc. Anyway, I am glad my bird have no issue so far. Would be nice to reset to original factory FW and start clean at least.

so difficult is that they let us go down to the 1.4 ?? a new firm that is a copy of 1.4, with battery upgrade?? 1% of affected phantoms ? lol , 100 % of the phantom I know, vibrate with 1.6. chance? change the staff is what you have to do in DJI , this can not be allowed

...

Thanks Morph. I was using the house behind me as a windbreak but maybe it was still affecting it.

Here's one from this morning with very light winds - same settings

I see the quad vibrating and some vibration in the camera but am interested if you see the same. I checked motor temps and they were all the same: 10 deg F above ambient.
I have a new motor P3P and it hasn't had the same symptoms, but to be sure I need to do a similar condition video.

I think so. I find more vibration at lower temperature even some at 55 deg F. It is much better behaved at 70+ F.

This is real bad. The phantom came back from service center few days ago. They didn't solve any of the issues. Still vibrating like crazy. And they changed the gimbal due to horizon level issues - but it is even worse now! So the phantom came in a worse condition than before. It's ridiculous.

DJI-Ken, why they haven't done anything to my phantom regarding vibrations? Can you please look into it?

Well after reading all these posts my motto and approach will be if it ain't broke don't fix it. I got a new p3p it's firmware is 1.4 and it flies great. So until DJI give full go ahead on some new and wonderful firmware that is 100% stable I'm staying with 1.4. My RC is fully up to date as came. I just hope that if something does go wrong along the way that is  tech error I'm still supported by DJI and not just told well you should; have up dated the firmware

Most everyone has cleared up the vibrations by lowering the basic gains. I don't know why a few have vibrations after update and they will address in the next firmware. But everyone I know has never had any issues updating. But it's totally up to you.

Well I am new to DJI and quad flying but not RC in general. I also flyn6 channel helis so flying the p3p is easy for me. Understanding vibrations is also easy. It's a real nightmare for helis and taming it down with the gains is more of a work around than fix. There must be issues somewhere either the props need balancing better or as others have mentioned loose motor mounts. These are 2 of the classics for 6 ch. helis. Is there somewhere where I can read up on exactly what is updated and added on the 1.6 firmware update?

That could well be the reason you don't have the issue.  Of all of the owners getting vibrations, many are getting them when the temperature drops to around 0C or below.  The problem is the firmware was updated at the same time winter hit.

If you get chance, next time it get's to freezing point or below (if it does again this year), try having your Phantom sit on the floor for a minute with the motors started but not flying, then try hovering at just over head height.

not upgrade , it is the worst thing you can do , 90% of people who have upgraded have had failures of any kind , stay in 1.4 is the best . 1.5 and 1.6 = garbage.
the worst thing I 've done since I got is being upgraded to 1.6, now I can not return to 1.4. And DJI are thinking about the GEO and the ph4. not that fix this shit firm

I had a complete power off shortly after take off.   Fell to the ground and busted the gimbal & camera right off among other damage.  FYI- this was with 1.4.   I upgraded to 1.6 after getting it repaired.  If it prevents this from ever happening again, then it's worth it.  But calling 1.4 the best isn't something I would say.

AFAIK, you can force FW 1.4 or any other one for that matter with "bind" button trick. Try it, see if your drone crashes in cold weather because of battery shuts off mid flight due to bug in FW 1.5 and all earlier ones.
