It says version unknown.

You can see live video but can't control the camera. Please explain further, do you mean you cant take a photo or video or change settings on the camera. Or you physically can't control it, the tilt wheel doesn't do anything?

I can take pictures and videos but I cannot move the camera up and down.

If you move the gimbal wheel speed from fast to slow you still get nothing?Also, in an earlier post you said you downloaded the firmware from the DJI website. How was that done becuae there's no Phantom Standard firmware to download from the website.

I still get nothing. I just tried downloading an older firmaware from the advanced and seeing if my drone would recognize that it was older and alow me to update.

can you calibrate the gimbal ? you remove the gimbal lock right ?

Where I am at is I can get connected to the drone and see video through it, but can not do anything with the controller. It just beeps real loud and constantly. It won't allow me to control it at all. But mine does say version 1.3.0050

When I went to check what version it was, for the aircraft it flashed a number but I did not see what that number was, sort of like when I open the DJI go app and the firmware upgrade button flashes.

Any other ideas besides online or phone support? I spent 1.5 hours waiting online only to be disconnected from support once I got down to 7 people in front of me. I feel like this support is a joke.

hey did you check your gimbal , make sure that is not in FPV mode ,  change to follow mode

The camera does not respond in follow mode.

I sat on the phone waiting for the chat for over 90 minutes and it froze at 4 people in front of me. Very frustrating.

believe me i know about it i was talking with DJI support for like 2 weeks and they didn't help me at all

at this point i don't know what  else can be mmm i think that  may be if you do a video of whats going on i can figurate out whats the problem

well yes i  can do it but i think that is better if yo can ask DJI if you can do that  with no problem remember that every quad has a ID number and FCC number  also in the main board

i don't want you to crash  so ask for that  also i have an other question is this a brand new Phantom 3 ?

DJI KEN can you answer this ?

I am currently on live chat after waiting for 60 minutes to connect, the person I am chatting with only types 2 messages every 30 minutes and said You have to extract the .bin file from the zip file by downloading the zip file through the site, but there is no download for the standard.

Ben, DO NOT keep going to the different Phantoms pages and trying to download firmware to your Phantom Standard.
You said everything was working but the control wheel right?Please read the Phantom Standard manual from here http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3-standard/info#downloads
Or look at all the tutorials that are in the Academy tab og the GO app.

Try Resetting WiFI video downlink for Phantom3 Standard
Turn on controller, turn gimbal dial to far right, and toggle S2 back and forth at least 3 times.
Remote will sound long beep if the SSID and password for WiFi video downlink has been reset

Do you know whats wrong Ken?

Ken - I followed the specific instructions for linking the remote controller.  I turned on the aircraft.  I pressed the link button.  I switched on the remote controller, turned the gimbal deal to the far left, and toggled the S2 switch back and forth.  The link button turned solid green but the aircraft keeps beeping.  Is this a software issue?  The problem all started because I tried to download a firmware update.

sorry about that i dont know what else you can do . did you try to ask to the support team the Bin file or may be go to a DJI store or talk with the seller

is this a new phantom so they can cover the warranty ?

I had the same problem.  I read one of the threads that said that was a normal sound in the updating process but I had a hard time believing that because the noise was so loud and bothersome.  But, without any other ideas, I started the firmware update process over from scratch, the beeping started and I left the house for 30 minutes or so so it wouldn't drive me crazy.  Lo and behold, when I came back in it was was just beeping mildly and the update readout said complete.  I rebooted the aircraft and everything is now good.  A little warning about what to expect during the firmware update would have been nice, but good instructions are not a strong point of this drone....but it sure is cool once you get it going!

What do you mean by start over from scratch? Was the upgrade button available for you on the app when your aircraft was beeping? Did you just turn the aircraft on and leave it beeping for 30 minutes?

i see but why you dont talk with the seller as i told you i spend 2 weeks talking with DJI and they didnt help me at all i get some help from the seller  and now i going to have to pay for a damaged product

i think that if you are in warranty its better if you talk with the seller and may be return the standard and get an advance

i having some issues with the range of the standard i hope i can get it fix with the new controller that i going to get but  if not i think that i going to have to sell the standard and get an advance because of the really bad service and  bad description of the product DJI, well i cant confirm at this point but i going to do some test later
before you update the p3s did you test the range of the quad ?

Sorry about that , the P3S is an amazing quadcopter  excellent  stability  fight the wind with no problem
but unfortunately you get this issue i hope they can solve it quickly

I really enjoyed the aircraft while it worked, but the customer service has not been an enjoyable experience.

I am trying to assist you, can you make a video of you trying to update. I'm still not totally following why you cannot get it going.
