Do you mean just when I turn it on? Because I do not have the update button on the DJI go app. Do I leave the aircraft on connected to the remote or not? And are you able to share with me a .bin file because I believe mine is corrupt.

Go to the general settings and scroll down to About and tell me what the aircraft firmware says. The latest update is 1.3.0050
First you said the aircraft was totally fine but just the gimbal wheel did not make the camera tilt up/down.
Now you're saying that the aircraft won't fly. I'm trying to figure out what you are doing wrong.
And there is no BIN file for the Phantom Standard, it is updated through the app. You have to have internet to download the firmware to the app. Then follow the instructions in the app to update.
When you power it up, in the "Aircraft State" menu and overall status, does it say upgrade required?

The aicraft firmware says unknown, the only thing I can control the aircraft with through the remote is taking photos and videos but I cannot move the camera up and down. There is no option for me to upgrade the aircraft through the DJI go app and before formatting the SD card, it I need to update (but there was still no upgrade button) and now after formatting the SD card the aircraft status on the DJI go app is normal and it does not say firmware upgrade required.

There is no formatting the SD card for update, again the Phantom Standard does not update from the SD card it ONLY updates through the GO App. You may have bricked your system because you tried to install the Phantom Advance BIN file onto your Standard.
You need to call tech support tomorrow and send it in for repair. 818-235-0789.

It was beeping before I tried to manually put a .bin file on it.

Yes, then return it from where you bought it from. If you bought it from DJI then there is a 7 day return.

I don't know, you need to take it to the store you bought it from and ask them.

I already tried to assist you for several days, it's best you return your Phantom and get another one or send it in for repair.
You can can call the support center Monday.

I just don't want to show up to the store and have them say they can't do anything. Could I send it in for repair without having someone officially diagnose a problem because I know it does not work?

The initial update failed at about 30% complete and then the beeping started.  So I shut everything down and the next day I started the update again from the beginning and it beeped all the way through until the end when the program said the update was complete.  I'm not sure what you mean by update button.  Anyway, it seems to have worked, but it doesn't seem like that should have been normal procedure.

The phantom 3 standard only upgrades via the DJI go app and the button to upgrade was not there for me, anyhow, I have sent my aircraft to DJI and they will hopefully have it fixed soon.

This is how it worked for me:
  
  
Issue started when I was prompted to upgrade software. At 50% it crashed and after that you can no longer get rid of those loud beeps.
  
  
This is what I did:
  
-        Updated firmware: 2 or 3 times it went really fast, like 2 minutes, with a message successfully updated but beeps did not stop and in the camera view I kept getting the notification that I need to upgrade. Conclusion: id tit not upgrade

-        Format to FAT32 – not sure this has anything to do with it
  
-        At another try it started quite slow with the update and failed at around 24%. I was prompted to restart but I didn’t
  
  
-        I started again the upgrade, really slow. During all this time it beeped like crazy and with every beep motors and gimbal got powered for a few milliseconds but without turning.
  
-        At 48% it seemed to have stopped but I waited for more than 10 minutes and I started to see 49% 50% etc…
  
-        At 55% all that loud noise stopped and I could only hear the soft bzzz bzzz sounds that are normal during the update
  
-        After 10 more minutes it was successfully updated and ready to fly.

This is just about what happened to me.
I purposely stayed out of this thread while DJI was trying to help. It just gets very confusing when 15 people are trying to tell you what to do. It becomes a cluster f*ck.

The standard for me has always taken a long time for an update. Although the Standard hasn't had as many updates as the other models.

Mine will usually stop at around 44% , for about 10 minutes. It will beep like you are  standing on it's  tail for about ten minutes. Sometimes longer. Usually it will beep through out the whole process if you had to abort the update from it failing.

Also I had a problem with using an android device to load the update. This was the first time I used DJI GO on an android device to update the bird. After it failed two times, I switched to my Ipad to do the update. I had to let the GO app download the update firmware like normal. Did the update using the Ipad. Had zero issues.

That was my experience with this latest update. Hope this information will help you out.

I was in the same situation. Try to get to the microSD card firmware file. You can find them on your phone in DJI folder (android). Leave it for about 30 minutes. It helped me.

Phantom 3 standard has no micro SD card slot, the card is inserted only in the professional and advans.Standart only updated wifi. I make a copy from the phone to the laptop file that loaded Dji go before upgrading (P3C_FW_V01.04.0060.bin) 63,3m. Trying to bridge the phantom to the micro usb laptop and copy this file to the aircraft
