[size=14.6667px]Flew the p3 adv today and got some good photos. Got home and did the update to the controller from 1.5.8 to 1.6

[size=14.6667px]now I'm having an issue where I have video and some telemetry (battery stats etc) but can't fly or much else...

[size=14.6667px]What is going on here?

[size=14.6667px]the p3 is on 1.8 IIRC.

[size=14.6667px]Any help guys? Going on vacation tomorrow and wanted to take the P3 along with me...

[size=14.6667px]Is the latest radio firmware 1.6?

[size=14.6667px]I have the 1.8 firmware on a SD card and installed it on the radio. Nothing happens after a minute... like it won't take it. I can only update my radio from the dji go app which shows it as latest.

[size=14.6667px]edited to add: no way this thing has 1.1.5... I installed 1.6 few months back and even checked with the txt file. some info is wrong along with like battery dischare time which keeps defaulting to 1 day when it should be 3

It'a also weird because it keeps saying I have 1.1.5 on the AC and that's not possible because I've updated just a few weeks ago.

You copied the whole .zip file across to your sd card, that is incorrect. You need to first right click on .zip file and extract it, take note of where you have extracted it too. Then you open the extracted folder and copy the .bin file to the sd. That should now update.

The aircraft needs to be at latest 1.8.80 to be able to speak to the Remote Control on version 1.6.
The aircraft appears to be at 1.6.40 (an earlier aircraft firmware not to be confused with v1.6 for the RC)

I'll check that now. Nobody even seems familiar with this issue though. I think my radio upgrade was corrupted. I need to try re installing the radio firmware, but not sure how. I have video connectio and some telemetry (alt, link quality, battery info). It's not total signal loss

I did not. I did the .bin file. I've done the upgrade several times before.

I installed the latest firmware when it came out. I don't have 1.6.4 on my quad. It was also showing 1.1.5 and also N/A earlier. It's not getting correct info from the quad.

What's interesting is, I've been told you can't have 1.5.8 and 1.8 on combo, but I did and that's what I was using afaik. I did get get an update required warning for the radio few weeks back though. I was pretty sure I had the latest radio firmware even before that.

I really need to try re-installing the radio firmware... how do I do that?

Apologies I've just cleaned my glasses and had another read of the transfer message on your video

I read it as 'copying Blahhh.zip' to D: drive , it was of course 'copying one item From Blahhh.zip' to D: drive

The RC software can be Rolled back. But remember you will have to come forward again to latest version to copmmunicate with aircraft.

When on front page of DJI GO (where you select aircraft), and your device (in my case iPhone 6s plus) is connected and powered up.

Hold your finger on the 'graduation hat' at the top right of the screen for 10 seconds and then remove finger from screen....You should now see an option to chose build level. You need wifi connection on display device at this point.

ok let me try that. be right back.
edit: ok it's downgrading. let's see what happens. Not sure if it matters, but when I did the 1.6.0 update, it literally took 30 seconds to update it. this downgrade seems to be taking much longer. lol

Yes part of the update was to 'improve encryption and security' signalling between RC & aircraft, which is probably why one won't work without the other.

See the release notes on the downloads page...

RC needs to be at 1.6

ok, got it! downgrade worked...

now here is my confusion. I have the latest fw on the sd card (1.8.8 right?) but drone is showing 1.7.60

It seems like it is refusing to install the latest firmware or something?
edit - remembered there are actually 2 versions of the fw update (p3p and p3a) installing the correct one which is S now!

Ahhhhhhhh, I think you have the wrong version....Do not go by the file naming convention.....Correct file under the Phantom 3A download starts off P3S_FW_V01.08.0080.

When updating the led above the camera flashes green/red, when update complete it's steady green. Takes about 20-30 minutes to complete ?

i have just up graded the latest firmware and i cannot use my phantom 3 pro at all. "satelite postioning off.

So what is up with the Pro? No GPS or no signal to the radio or the tablet?
Can you, in DJI go, confirm in "about" what versions your system reads? Everything needs to be hooked up and working in order for the app to give you all the info.
