I just tried this, I still get version unknown. The academy menu doens't show any version either..

Just to confirm because I haven't seen it posted yet, could you confirm what version is your iOS operating system? The most recent is 9.3.2.

i have tested this tonight by downgrading my controller

It seems the Go App is not polling the Server or the server has no data there,  after downgrading to V1.5.80 i tried 5 different devices with DJI Go App version from 2.70 to the latest, not one will show the controller version or give the update notification, just 'Version Unknown', even the downgrade method wont show the version no matter what FW the controller is on, i also tested both Android and IOS and its the same.

It seems the servers are not providing version data to the App so its unable to check for updates.

I am able to update and downgrade on one device as this was the one i used to Update to V1.6 originally, all others wont.

This has to be a server issue on DJI side

I tried with 2 android devices, the first one did not work but the second did the update and now my P3P is flying. Hope DJI and apple will figured out a nice update soon!

Hi All

I had the same issues. What I did to resolve the issue was to turn everything off. Remove the DJI Go app from my ipad and restart the ipad. then install the app again via app store. I opened the dji go app and turned on my remote. Then I turned on my P3. as soon as it connected It said firmware requires update, clicked on notice and it FINALLY gave me the upgrade option, I then followed the steps and my controller is now updated.
False Alarm! Same sh** happening for next upgrade! Come on DJI sort yourselves out and resolve this issue. I've had enpugh of this! I'm heading over to twitter to vent my frustration - I know how comanies hate negative publicity on social media.

Can you clarify what firmware are you able to see via the Go app? What Phantom model do you have? Could you elaborate exactly what your issue is and what you've done thus far to rectify it?

I have a p4 , i do see application ver. and Aircraft ver. which both are the latest , but next to RC ver. there is nothing , ,,,, i did the reset  , i did re link , i did delete - re install app , but no notice for update or RC ver.

To clarify, the LED color on the RC is green, correct? Have you already tried reinstalling the Go app? What mobile device do you use with this unit?

Yes LED is green and RC is connected to Aircraft , and yes i did re-install application and everything working except i dont get update message or RC ver. !!!! I use google nexus 10 tablet .

How long ago did you perform the update? It may just need to take a bit for the servers to adjust in order to display the data. I would also recommend relinking the aircraft to the RC, if you have not done so already.

I tryed the update yesterday....ok will try again today if not will wait few days , i already did the re-link with aircraft but no luck on the update , thanks for your patients.

Hi Sam, have you tried another mobile device? such as IOS device.
If everything is fine, you could try to hover it at low altitude and fly it in the sight-distance range to check if any message pops out in APP.

DJI Natalia with my Galaxy S5 is not showing the RC vesrion. But with Galaxy S7 edge the RC version showing to DJI GO. Is it safety to upgrade the RC firmware with Galaxy S7 edge? Because the Galaxy S7 have the knowing issue with reboot.

I did try my cell phone (samsung S4 mini) but same thing no update message !!! I will do a test to fly it and update you.

What the version number shows up on S7? you could upgrade RC firmware on S7. Please do the test and let us know your flight experience.

The S7 shows the following versions. AC 1.9.60, RC 1.6.0 DJIGO Ver 3.0.0. I am not sure if the S7 is so stable device to upgrade the RC firmware. Today again in the first flight reboot it. So if the RC bricked with S7 then I must send back to DJI support and I don't like to do this.

If in that case, to keep it's stable, please use your friend's iPhone or iPad to upgrade it if convenient, or change another brand android device to do that.

And it's only the RC that's not producing the firmware version when using the Nexus, correct? Just to make sure I'm reading correctly that the S7 will display that information, but you're reluctant to perform any updates using that device right? As of today there is a new Go app version for Android, v3.0.1. Could you happen to give that a try on your Nexus and see if there are any changes?

Yes only RC showing N/A , aircraft and DJI GO up to date ,  the nexus 10 tablet and S4 mini cell + Tried my sons Galaxy Tab 4 tablet ALL not showing RC ver.....I will update GO app. now and let you know the outcome.

Updated GO but still nothing on RC update,,,,nor i can go to previos ver. of RC as they are not showing eather... is there any other way to force update the RC ?

Just one last clarification, when you last updated the RC firmware, did you delete the firmware package after updating? Another way of updating the RC is connecting it to the Assistant 2 software and the RC firmware will populate there. Please let me know if that works. If not, I can try to use another alternative method.

I never updated RC or deleted any file since P4 came out , isn't this the first time DJI has an update for RC ??, but i did roll back Aircraft firmware and re installed the latest firmware again but i dont think this has anything to do with it because RC was N/A before i did that....I will connect RC to assistant 2 and let you know outcome...

OK aircraft does connect to assistant 2 but when i connect RC to assistant 2 it doesn't work nothing comes out on assistant 2 main screen,,,, DJI windows drivers are installed, im using windows 10 laptop

Try using this v1.8 .BIN file and use the old SD card method on the RC to force an upgrade:

Use the following button combination to force the update once the .Bin file is on the SD card and connected to the RC via an SD adapter:

* Turn on the controller, and the aircraft should be off.
* Press C1, C2, record and the wheel on the right side of the controller and then turn off the controller.
* Don’t let go of any fingers, and turn on the controller. Then the controller will be able to update again.

If this persists, you may want to get in touch with the Europe Support team to have the RC sent in for further diagnosis.

ok i guess im getting to a dead end , I downloaded the file and did the process but still RC will not force update this way , is there another way ??? or can i insert the sd into aircraft and connect RC to aircraft just to see if that will work ? if i cant try that then let me know , also my p4 is still under warranty but my RC is modified with a terminator antenna !!! so waiting for your reply/...thanks

Since the 1.8 firmware is just for the RC, it would not read properly when inserted into the aircraft. The last post was the last alternative that I have available without cost. The only other option, at a cost, would be replacing standard USB output module with either the HDMI output module or another standard USB module to try to rectify the issue. If you still cannot update the RC, then this would require either a repair service or purchasing a replacement RC.

Im not happy at all , now they are asking me to ship remote to Germany , to ship remote with DHL it will cost me between 80-100 euro if not more + 80-100 euro shipping back and probably repair will cost another 100euro , so whats the point !!!
this is crazy maybe if i buy a used remote will be cheaper , my remote is fully working it just doesn't update ,which means it came from factory with no version number as this is the first P4 RC update , which means it is not my fault,  i have this drone only 5 months !!! does DJI even consider this.

Problem resolved , i bought a new NVIDIA K1 tablet and after installing DJI GO it showed me RC need update and so was updated.
