Hi everyone,

I just bought a Phantom 1 from a friend here in town, and I have some questions.

1. the firmware. he says it wasn't updated in over a year. can I do this on a mac? I have installed the app, so do I just plug in to my macbook?

2. Rotor blades - he installed custom 9 inch carbon fibre blades, they are a little chipped but nothing serious, should i replace? also, is 9 inch a good size, or too much? (I am aware it came with 8 inch blades)

3. Rotor guards - it came with them on it, but after a quick crash during my test flight, one is cracked. I will remove them until I get another set in. do you use guards?

Welcome to the club of dji my self I don't use prop guards but I been flying since 2013.I use carbon fiber props it makes the quad more agile make sure you balance them to and if there chipped I would replace them know the firmware I don't use a Mac but on this web sight there is a mac/pc for downloading the newest firmware is 4.02... If your friend crashed the quad I'd also do a calibration even an advance calibration won't hurt I hope you enjoy flying and B safe.....
