I ordered 15th still waiting did you receive email..

I just got an email from Newegg this morning saying it's shipping with a tracking #. When I track it is still in the "packaging" phase. It is shipping from within the U.S. on FedEx.

Thanks, I'm leaning that direction (Mini) as I just don't want any problems... But would still love an Android choice. I'm a fan of Samsung products (no Note 7 jokes LOL) and if there was a current tablet in that size category that is working for someone I'd be interested in hearing a bit about it too.

It's not shipping from the US, that's just what Neweggs notifications say. My email from them for my Mavic says that too and it shipped from China.

I appreciate all of the help. Is there anyone there at DJI that might have some advice concerning Android? There's not a lot of info as to how well Android is working with P4P... I'd like to order "something" today and get it shipping in time to arrive when I get my new P4P.

For the best COMPATIBILITY regarding an Android device, it is imperative to go with something "not new."  Just like anything you want to be reliable and mature, the newest is NEVER proven.  Anyone serve in the military?  You know what I mean then.  (So, no Android 7th Gen software or hardware yet)

Like trance said, THE BEST DEVICE will be that CrystalSky screen... Which is why the Pro+ I ordered has not shipped - DJI have to depend on an outside vendor more than likely.

That wasn't my experience.

The iPad Pro 9.7 only manages about 500 nits and did little better than my iPad Mini 4 when I tested it in sunlight.

It is brighter for sure, but a long way short of not needing a sunshade.

Even the built in version of the CrystalSky device used in the P4P+ manages 1000 nits, and the 8" version can go to 2000 nits, that is closer to not needing a sunshade I'd say...

I realize crystalsky is a lot better but it's not available yet and if it takes as long as the goggles that could be six months , I have used 9.7 iPad Pro for the past 7 months I have never used or needed sunshade and I don't think there is much better out there at the moment. Maybe it's a lot brighter in UK than Ireland lol..
Usually fly when sun is coming up or going down because this is when light is at it's best for photography..

Yea the iPads are all around 450 nits and it's like have a 9.7" mirror.  I've used a Note 5 and on auto-brightness, it has a sun viewing brightness mode (only available in AUTO).  It hits like 750 nits or something AND STILL isn't super stellar in direct sunlight if you really want to make out details (like filming with a drone).  PLUS the battery will die quick.  

I'm excited to get the Pro+ with the 1000 nits, but in reality you NEED about 5000 nits in DIRECT sunlight...  And a car battery.

I like my ipad pro smaller size and the sun shade.

congrats I still undecided but by the looks of it I think the p4p will be a faster delivery the the mavic ugh portability or quality such a hard decision lol

in other news, I finally got a refund for my cancelled mavic order.., it was ordered on the 23rd and I saw no signs of it shipping soon.. based on others that had ordered before me and not gotten it..
I will be happy if I get my p4p shipped within the 2 week timeframe given.. we shall see.

Personally I'm finding that switching to using my iPhone has been the best thing I did in terms of readability of the screen in daylight.

Yes it is a smaller image but the clarity went up considerably when there is sunlight around.

This is exactly the wrong moment to be buying a new Android device for P4P as the price/availability of what will be the best Android option, CrystalSky, is not available right now.

However, one point to consider is that to keep CrystalSky working at its best with the DJI Go app, there are likely to be tight restrictions on which apps can be installed on the device, so unless you are looking for something to dedicate to the P4P you may end up looking elsewhere for your device anyway...

That's good for you, but I will get crystalsky when it comes out , think it will be a good idea to have a dedicated unit much less complicated.

Don't misunderstand, I've ordered the P4P+ with the integrated display, I have no intention of using my phone long term, it was just the best solution right now, absent a device with a brighter screen.

I cancled my mavic and ordered p4p from newegg on 11/15 got my tracing number today morning.

As per portability majority of times I will be using this in or around town so it will be an extra pack in my car. So I opted for extra quality over portability.

Do the Phantom 4 prop guards (CP.PT.000337) fit the P4P? Just want a set for indoor use. Also are the Phantom 4 9450S quick-release props compatable?

I have only seen information saying that P4 and P4P use the same props.

My p4p status is now payment success, yesterday it was payment authorised, are other people getting the same thing ?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. I have heard it will work OK. I really do want a larger dedicated screen but also want to run other apps on it and not be potentially unable to do so if I go with the DJI solution.

I know the feeling, I got a tracking number this morning but FedEx still has no info on it. I've refreshed it like 30 times already hoping it will change. It's like 4am over there now so we might not see any more changes with things for a few more hours.

Yes, same thing for me happen today. And i saw someone with order from 15th or 16th that was "shipped". Chat support said mine will be sent within a week. I hope before the weekend.

Any idea if the P3 pro controller would be compatible with the p4 pro?

I don't think anyone has any idea. But I wouldn't expect it before Xmas, for instance Amazon is quoting Jan. 15.

So, yeah... I ordered right away and was curious because those who ordered later are receiving shipping notifications. Chat support informed me that because I ordered an extra battery and those won't be available for three weeks, they wouldn't send the drone until then. What kind of a company does this? It seems so illogical, is this just the norm for DJI or is this normal other places too? I've never encountered something like this before.

Seems like a bad practice to me... it wasn't a package deal... ordered two separate things. Oh well, lesson learned.

You could always cancel it and place 2 separate orders. It doesn't seem like there is a line like the Mavic and you could have the P4P probably ship out this week or early next.

Why do they keep referring to DJI GO 4 app in the manual? It even says to search for that in the Play Store. Is there going to be a different app for the P4P or is it just there for no reason?

You'll scan the barcode once you get the P4P.   
Unless you get the P4P+ (obviously...  IT'S BUILT-IN!).
