I am running in 2.7k 30fps.

I only shoot in 1080/30 or 60 at this point.

My first choice would be 4 K

The resolution 2.7K@60fps is missing (my choice in Mavic Air)

I use 4K (3840x2160 60fps or 59,97fps) in Vegas....best for Youtube

The MP only does 60mbps bit rate which is really really low for 4k. Thats why you get the annoying interframe pulsing and have to run noise filters to reduce it.

Pal and Never-The-Same-Colour aren't really relevant at all these days.  They're line based analogue scan systems of making up an image.  These days with 1080 and above and now line scanning from an analogue signal it makes no difference at all.
You're not feeding this stuff straight into an analogue broadcast transmitter.

I shoot in 4k even though its far from ideal on the MP.  Firstly, in terms of stock video 4k is going to be a growing market and you'll get better results shooting 4k direct than shooting in 2.7k and upsampling.
Also, it gives me far more scope to crop and pan around inside a shot if needed.
The MA should be far better at 4k video as they enabled the 100mbps bit rate vs 60.

60mbps is not the best but is fairly sufficient for 4K. At least MavicPro I found 4K produces better image than shooting 1080 because 4K is close to native resolution of the sensor

Different modes for different shots, different requirements

Personal 2.7K. I just like it better. Clients, it varies but most want 1080 for web. I've done same shot comparisons and there isn't much difference in 2.7k, to 1080p than there is 4K to 1080 for web. Not enough to really care, so 2.7K seems to work for most.

Sensors on MP and MA are nothing to get excited about. Mavic Air even with better BR performance is not as resolved looking as the MP. I had one and was not impressed. In my own same shot comparisons I just liked the focus, the clarity and color of the MP better. MA seemed to always blur fine detail to the left of the shot, or high resolved lines in trees, limbs and so on.

Anyway, 2.7K I would have to select for most frequently used. If I shoot with 1080 Feed I tend to use 1080 mode, but that is on days with plenty of sun.

Its more to do with how the mavic processes 1080.  It does it REALLY badly.

4k mavic PRO is awful in that you get the horrible pulsing artefact every 8th frame.  This means you generally need to run noise reduction on each clip (costs money and massively adds to render time).
60mbps combined with choice of codecs is poor.
2.7k has a slightly lower compression ratio so suffers less and is generally what most people will use if they dont NEED 4k output.

The mavic air does 100mbps so its not an issue.
