i am going to Greece to in one week in Crete and Santorini, i need to find what drone regulation are there...if you find something send me a link
Great! To find out the regulations, you go to the Hellenic Aviation Authority. From there they have a system where you can submit your flight plans and/or register the location you intend to fly. They will then grant/deny the request. Unfortunately, they have yet to 'go live' with their system, therefore you don't have a choice to even use it . I haven't checked lately to see if it is up. Generally they have a 400' AGL and a 50m distance rule for rec flights if I recall.
FYI in Santorini there are "No Drone Signs" around OIa. These are put their by locals...there is no bylaw. Simply printed of the net and posted. You may fly but just don't fly directly over people on the main area or be too close to private residences/hotels to respect privacy and you should be ok. The key is to be respectful; nobody wants to be bothered by low and loud flights (or their will become strict regulation). There is the main airport (only one) on the back side of the island so I would not fly there. There is of course the occasional heli flight so I would avoid being high over the water and be closer inland. Enjoy! |
