How do you turn off the "update" message on the RC? I need to get on the internet
to use the map function and don't want to update right now. Like Ver 1.8.1 and don't
want to change.

I'm sorry that the pop-up reminder will not be canceled unless you update to the latest version. But how is that possible your RC is V1.8.1? The latest version is 1.7.6.

My bad, aircraft is 1.8.1, not rc
