here it is all put back together and flying 4 consecutive batteries 18-20 mins each in 90+ degree weather, humidity %hell.

Now Ray....painting a P black will not give it stealth. You won't be able to fly over any fires or nude beaches! LOL. JK. It looks really cool buddy! Come clean....how tough was it to completely remove it all? Blow by blow, please!

took me one hour to pry off the shell, i dont like using knives or anything to pry it off, so i took my time little by little.  it would have been 30 minutes if i remembered to take the 4 screws bo the landing gear, oh my i dont even know what to say there.
taking the motors and all circuit boards, lights, vps, masking the vps cameras, etc etx another hour. JB weld the shell cracks and screw hole cracks another 15 mins, prime and paint, 20 minutes.
the sheer enjoyment, PRICELESS.
would i do it again, hell no. this is the one i did a csc on in mid flight inadvertently. so i thought what the hell,

Yikes!!!! You da man Ray!!!! That is all.

I wonder if it will get rather hot, since black absorbs heat and white reflects heat...

Hopefully it will fly, another day... ;-)

So you're saying we can't start sending you our P3's for you do to this as a side job?   Looks really good!  I like it a lot, not so much that I want to take on that project, but a lot that I'll enjoy looking at the pictures of it!

once i put it back together and test flight it, without a gimble/camera, i ll video it in flight( if it flies) and post the video. i may paint my other one too, but something really bright.
u never know i may start doing it as a side note, between setting up networks, fixing computers, custom building computers, checking on my bar & bbq joint,kicking out the drunks, playing with the kids and maybe the wife too.

thats why 3dr quads keep crashing and have gps problems, cuz they have been painted black and the sun cooks the electronics, i ll send them an email and let them know you found the problem

I bet you are preparing this one for the winter, so when it falls in the snow you can find it easy lol

You will have a hard time to see at night (if you fly at nights) LED lights will help bet still...

im gonna give this one to my kid for his 11th bday.
"oh here goes the liberal crowd; oh my god he is giving an 11 year old a phantom 3, he is too young for a serious quad, start him with a hubsan x4", oh shut up. i got a hubsan x4 for him, set it up and went to fly it and the sob took off and landed on a tree 200 feet from me!!! so i got him another one, set it up and this time i flew it in the basement of my bar, the little ..... took off again and dived inside the open sump pump with 2 feet of water. hey but i took it out shook some of the water out, replaced the battery and it flew just fine, til one of the motors gave up next day!!
the p3 is easier to fly than a hubsan x4, trust me.

i fly by the map and the little radar looking icon and the lights on the p3 work real good at night, flown many times at night.

Looks good so far and waiting to see it fly.  Ray it appears you have to much time on your hands.

For some reason I think of a Blackbird SR-71 when I look at that.

That looks fantastic, lovethe matte finish. l've been thinking of doing mine, but only the bottom half, and without taking it apart if possible.

LED light. You need to turn the front arms off if you wanna use the camera

oh yeah lol , i got an easier way to do it, just get a plasti-dip can and cover all HOLES and spray, if you want nighthawk stealth spray the LED on the back too but leave the front ones clear so when coming and don't know where is your air wolf just turn them on and then you will see it.

All this is done without taking out a single screw and if you don't like it just wait 24 hours and then you can peel it all off, and then you got your white baby back.

KIDS don't try this at home LOL

1 to learn how to replace a shell
2 to do a video for you curious georges
3 to see how everything is wired
4 design and manufacture something for all the broken shell screw wells, which i have!!!!
5 and most important, kill boredom

i thought about it but then i thought well 3DR makes their Solo quad black(probably that is why they dont perform as promised) so i will try it, if it gets too hot, i will fly it at nights and winter!!!
hell this is not getting any stickers on it, its stealth man stealth. and as skater said i will kill the motors at 1600 feet and then be really stealth till it hits ground!!

it is possible but if you dont cover every gap and orifice, you will get paint inside it, will it damage anything? idk. you definitely would want to mask the vps sensors and cameras!

Yeah you have valid points and the most important point is to kill boredom which in my case i don't have any of as i got plenty of things to do on my time off like watching the kids and other exciting things in that matter LOL
