If so does it support both the 800kv and 969kv ?

We don't know.  We will have to ask Dr. Turbo for an answer.

The Firmware is ready. It will be released in a week and then you could flash your ESC to support the 2312E motor.

Can the new motors be swapped into a P3 professional?  If so, do you need the ESC and reflash?  My P3 pro I got 2 months ago has the old style motors, where as a new P3 pro comes with the new style motor

I doubt there is any benefit, DJI likely just ending production of 2312 motors and the 2312E is the replacement, i have the 2312 motors and see no reason to change them.

As their is only one FW for the P3 Pro they must be directly swapable though

no idea about swapping them, not brave enough to try on my P3 as i hear it is a headache unless you are quite good at unsoldering/soldering. (which i am not)
here is what DJI says about them:

seems like they offer a bit better performance.

Actually I've tried to replace my P3 motor with 2312e 800Kv and 2312E 960Kv motors .

With 2312E 800KV motors and firmware 1.32, my P3 does not fly as stable as the original 2312 960Kv motor, it feels like it's almost trying to  tip over and feels like the air braking is not working either, the fly performance is pretty bad. I think the firmware is not optimized for this motor.

I then buy another sets of 2312E 960Kv motor and was of hoping it will work similar to the original motors. This time the flight performance is better but still not quite as good as the original one and don't think the air brake work either.

My guess is the ESC in P3 is similar to the 420S as their startup beep sounds are the same  . Also  DJI stated the 420S ESC are not compatible on their web site and i think that is part of the reason why they don't work yet .

Few days ago I have updated the firmware to 1.4 and was hopping this version would make it compatible with the 2312E 960Kv motors. Unfortunate, air breaking and the flight performance are still not good..

Anyone know whether 2312E motors will be supported on the p3??
