If you want to retain the color of the fireworks, pull your exposure way back. Everything else will go dark, but the color will return in the actual fireworks. Best cure is HDR.
Just for the sake of it , i've tested the video part of it in a backyard firework .
Settings at 1080P/60fps
Camera on full auto
No post production enhancement except the video was slowed down 25% , so at 75% of original speed .
I'm guessing i was about at the most 200 feet from the fireworks , about a 100 feet at the closest .
Kinda surprised it turned out that way
