Well, if you mount the X3 camera on Osmo, it will have all of the functions of OSMO except for the hibernation and gimbal  lock protection. If your mount to X3 back to Inspire 1, it will be just a X3 camera like before.

Sorry, the Osmo camera can't be used on inspire 1. Instead, the X3 camera with inspire 1 can be used on the Osmo after the latest inspire 1 firmware update.

Would you happen to know if there is a slight chance of that the Osmo X3 ever might be compatibel to use on the Inspire 1? I have received a little scratch (Darn It!) on my Inspire 1-X3 lens, and don't really want to spend a huge amount of money on a completely new I1-X3 camera, if there is a slight possibility that I can use my Osmo X3 on the Inspire. Alternatively, are you considering selling spare parts for the X3 in near future?

(I am aware of the difference in focus etc. but I can't imagine that it would be totally impossible to make a somewhat usable video from the Osmo X3 from air?).

The Osmo camera can't be used on Inspire 1, most Inspire 1 users have X3 camera, that's why we make it compatible with Osmo handle, in the revert way, I am afraid the R&D won't develop this firmware considering the needs and complexity tradeoff. I am really sorry for your X3 lens scratch, please contact technical support for repair.

Hi Amy,

Is there any way to update the X3 without the Inspire drone?
I'm afraid my drone is broken but the X3 is functioning well - I am however unable to use it with the OSMO handle - the image is not passing through.

Thanks,
P

Hi Amy,

Hello!
I'm afraid you have to upgrade the white X3 camera on Inspire 1 with the latest Inspire 1 firmware if you wanna use it on the Osmo handle.
You may borrow another Inspire 1 body or you may contact your dealer for help?
If your drone has any problem, please contact your dealer or our technical support for repair.

Thanks!

I own an Inspire 1 pro X5 and was looking to get an OSMO and ws wondering if the OSMO's X3 will work on my Inspire 1.  If you ask why would I want to do that, my X5 is in repair and I need a backup solution.  Also if I were to buy an Inspire 1 X3 could I put that on an OSMO?

Thank you
