this came up on phantompilots after users are installing the new dji go 2.5....

"Whatever you guys do, DO NOT update to the latest IOS Go app 2.5.0. If you do, you will be locked out. It does not matter what firmware you have or if you revert back to an older app version. If you load, you will be locked out. DJI added hidden code that will transmit to your drone. I'm running aircraft 1.4.10; RC 1.4.30 and IOS App 2.4.0 with no luck. I even tried going back to aircraft version 1.3."

What is going on?

you told us half the story. what's the other half? what does this "code" do?

My iPad autoupdated to 2.5, but for some reason my iPhone did not and still has 2.4.3. The problem is I cannot find 2.4.3 anywhere on my computer. Most of my apps are not even in the mobile apps folder in iTunes.

Turn off auto udate on your iPad....
Do an iTunes back up of your iphone, it will store the 2.4.3, do a search for it on the computer once done, copy it and paste to the desktop, then close out and relaunch iTunes, delte the Go Ap on your iPad and then plug in the ipad (make sure a separate iTunes folder for the iPad) then plug in the iPad and add that 2.4.3 to your iTunes folder, it will work!
And turn off auto updating!!!!

I did all that and my apps are not backing up. Even spent an hour on the phone with a Senior Apple Tech to no avail. Really pissed that DJI did this. Probably will just get rid of it and wait for someone else to develop a product that isn't shrouded in secrecy.

Nope, I ALWAYS TURN OFF AUTO UPDATE APP'S . I just noticed that I am good and still at 2.4 .... This is very scary and hope it is resolved quickly.

I don't think that works with iOS 9. My iPad last back up was on 12/17/15 so I should be good with restoring 2.4.3, but it is nowhere to be found.

Unless I do a complete restore of my iPad?

not an apple tech but try it on another computer if you can or set up another user account ie. i have one for the 4 iphones we have and the 2 ipads...
You can try to create another account when you launch iTunes by holding the shift key when you launch iTunes i believe...and back it up completely vs.. just backing up the latest data.
There is a way to get if off your phone if it is on there!

I think I am screwed on the iPad. Even if I get the iPhone 2.4.3. to back up, it's not the same as the iPad app which already auto-updated to 2.5.

Wish there was another way to get a hold of that .ipa

I installed DJI GO 2.5 (should have known better :@) . Of course it locked me out BUT I have a backup of any existing version so I removed that crap and installed 2.4.3 and it works again.

However I didnt really test Fw 1.5 / 1.6 so I dont know what bugs and problems else may arise. I just wanted to start when the 2.5 lockout happened..............

What firmware do you have installed? I'm on 1.4 and reverted back from 2.5.0 to 2.4.0 but the NFZ is still locked.

This is how you can get to the .ipa files on your Windows PC.

• Launch iTunes on your PC
• Under Library menu, click on [Apps] menu.
• The iTunes will display all installed apps
• Right-click on one of those apps
• Then click “Show in Windows Explorer” option
• A Windows Explorer will be opened navigating directly to the path of .ipa files.
  

Alternatively, if you have done a default itunes installation, you can simply open a Windows Explorer and type this path in the address bar: C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications

Oops didn't realise it's the Android version. I'm sure I have the Apple app for IPad. I'll rummage through my PC and post it on Dropbox in a while..

This is how you can get to the .ipa files on your Windows PC.

I am on OS X and I don't think this is true anymore beginning with iOS 9. Not all apps are stored in the mobile applications folder. For example, I have 92 apps on my iPhone 6S, but there are only 23 apps in the mobile applications folder. Something to do with app thinning.

I worked with a senior person in Apple support yesterday to no avail. We could not get most of the 92 apps (including DJI GO 2.4.3) to backup to my computer. They are all there (and more) in the purchased section of the Apple App Store, but it will only download the newest version of any app if you go to restore it.

I would greatly appreciate someone providing the iOS 2.4.3 .ipa file.

Thanks for this post, both my iPad and iPhone have updates waiting and I am glad I did not hit "update all" as I usually do before reading this post. I have no idea how I can save the app as it is and share it but I will be sure not to update it until this is taken care of. My concern now is I have an iPad Mini on order to use with my P3P and when I get it the only option for me will be 2.5. I guess I should just cancel the order before it is delivered unless there is anyway to install the older versions from my iPhone iPad

I have 2.3.0 for Apple, but I am having problems extracting 2.4.3 due to app thinning introduced in iOS 9.x

I'll try to have another go at extracting tomorrow morning.

That was my problem I think. I even backed up my device to a different Apple computer and when I did the mobile applications folder was completely empty. I don't think physical copies of the .ipa files reside on the computer anymore after iOS 9.

I have 2.2.0 on an older hard drive, but I don't want to go back that far.

The issue is resolved. Do the following if an NFZ appeared in your P3 and killed the flying

1. Please connect mobile device to the Internet.
2. Turn on craft and should be on P-GPS mode, please make sure craft has solid GPS lock.
3. Please make sure that RC and mobile device is connected to craft..

Wait for 1-5 min， and try to reboot the App to check.

I too have the 2.3.0 for apple, but I don't have 2.4.3.  Does anyone have a link to where we can download the 2.4.3 DJI  GO application?  From my understanding, if you connect to your P3, it's too late, for the information is now stored on the P3 or the RC.  So far, I have yet to connect, so I should be good to delete the current 2.5.0 version, and then install the 2.4.3 version and then download my flights from the cloud.  It's too bad that DJI tried to sneak this trojan horse onto our machines without our prior knowledge!

Again, PLEASE post where we can download version 2.4.3 for IOS.  (The .ipa file)

I bought my P3P in december.  I have 2.5.x on the app (droid) and 1.4x on the aircraft and RC.  I don't have any problems.. but I'm not in any geofencing areas.. are you saying there will be an issue if I go there? thanks..

Over on Phantom Pilots they were commenting that you can't use someone else's IOS file. It is coded specifically for your Apple ID. I don't know that for sure but it sounds like they know they are talking about. Here is the link to the old version that they put in a DropBox folder.

Yes it is true. I tried installing one that someone gave me and it would not let me.

Looks like I am committed to 2.5.

Now for the moment of truth. Powering it all up, letting it infect my Phantom and see what happens....

Thank you, I saw that!  I guess I need to wait until something is done with this 2.5.0 update.  This update has basically BRICKED my P3P.  I live less than a half mile from a helipad that is used about 5 times a month for our local hospital.  (VERY SMALL HOSPITAL in a VERY SMALL TOWN pop. 4,000)

Here is another link for  versions 2.2.7.11,  2.4.2 and 2.4.3, I hope it works for jailbroken IOS devices.
