This is the last reported location.

What was the altitude at that position?  5 feet, it is there, 100 feet it may be in the drink..

that is what im afraid of.

Oh wow, either in a pool, on a house, or in the drink.  Let us know if you find it.

This is kind of like a remote control treasure hunt.

Wonder if a Phantom 3 will float?  Maybe someone could make lightweight foam attachments like GoPro makes for their cameras encase of a water landing.

No, it won't float, sinks like a stone. And yes, people have already made floats, there are posts here about it.

Here's a little more.  I punched in the last 10-15 GPS points to try to get a track or momentum you were going:

So, unless you spun out of control, you are likely on that track (not taking into account imprecision in GPS reports).  

But, you were at 327ft and traveling 1.9 mph (or 2.77 ft/s).  Based on that data, and assuming a freefall from 0 vertical acceleration, you are looking at a 4.5 second free fall.  The data I already was for 1.1 seconds, so, the picture below is a zoomed in view.  I drew an arrow to represent the first 1.1 seconds of recorded flight.  

Then, assuming it falls with the same momentum (likely wouldn't - but maybe close) - I copied and pasted the first arrow four times on the same track (to make the additional 4.5 seconds of freefall while on same horizontal track:




All that means, it very well could be in a yard and not the drink.  

(Yes, I was bored at work.)

You would probably be able to see for yourself - or helpers would have a much easier job if you went to HealthyDrones.com, followed the instructions to upload your flight data and posted the link here.
