Since DJI is taking so unbelievably long to release the firmware and adapter for the x5 I was wondering how many of us have modified our osmo for the x5 and how it's working out for everyone. What's your setup and any tricks to getting it to work properly.

I sanded down the top mounting bracket ring and the X5 fits perfectly. Turns on, moves into place and I'm able to get a video signal, but after 5 seconds, the gimbal goes limp. I need to update the X5's firmware but i do not own an inspire. Unless you know any way to update the X5 without an inspire.  So my X5 Osmo has been doing nothing for the past 3 months and i have been checking this forum every single day.  Thanks DJI

I would not be too happy with a DIY for my £1800 X5. The proper adapter offers much more support for the heavy X5..

It looks like the official adapter is made from metal and has a height boosting extension to allow the gimbal to be amounted the right way round and without obstructing the joystick. I wonder how much it will cost? To be honest, I am expecting about £30 - £70 for the adapter only.

I have been testing the X5 with the Osmo and have uploaded my samples on YouTube - they're nothing special just quick 5 minute tests.

Using the 3D printed adapter was the way to go if you have no other way of using the X5 with the Osmo right now. It costs £9.99 ($15).

Just Got an X5 and was hoping to use it on my Osmo handle. Mine too calibrates and then goes limp. But on my Inspire its asking for a camera firmware update.  Im hoping the Inspire pro vers. 1.3.6 will make it work
