I have a problem using the DJI Go app on an apple tablet in the sunlight. The glare and reflection off the screen make it difficult or impossible to see. I've turned up the screen bightness as high as it will go and I have a nice commercial shield which I bought. Neither of these helps.
I was wondering if some of you folks have the same problem, and how you were able to overcome it

It's called a monitor hood.

That's what I have, a moniter hood. But in sunlight I get a great reflection of my face, but I can't see the image on the screen.

I have the same problem. I haven't tried it but maybe sunglasses would help. Perhaps even those yellow tinted driving glasses.

I will try sunglasses, thanks. I am glad I'm not the only one having this problem.

There's no good solution to this problem, I've tried screen protectors and hoods to no avail. The best thing to do is fly late in the day or stand in the shade.

Sunglasses don't work, I've tried them all the only thing that might work is  a screen protector that pilots use. I don't have a link but it's supposed to work great but it's very expensive. Try googling it.

I googled "Amorglass". If it works, it is less expensive than some monitor hoods if seen. It;s $49.99.

I would pay that if it works.

Try wearing a baseball cap to shade your face so that the reflection is not as bright.

Here is an inexspencive way to rid all the sun glare.

I was thinking of trying a cloak .  Have you seen the old cameras where the guy puts a black cloak over him when taking a photo?  Maybe a dumb idea, and also if you go by the book there will be no line of sight doing this.

I recently had a lot of issues with glare while flying on the beach in Mexico. Standing in the shade was a subtle improvement at best. I ended up hiding under beach towels!!  I just ordered an anti-glare screen and a hood for use with my ipad 2. I'm hoping the combination of those two items helps. Good luck!

Same as goggles...you need a spotter.  In the UK though, that allows you to fly higher, up to 1000ft rather than just 400ft.

I was at home outside and tried a lite weight blanket to see if ICould see the screen on my I Pad. I was testing the  Dji Go app to check for connection's with my  item,s   I fly by visual sight ( eyes)and need an extra body when I try my 1st time at the flying area. No I cannot see my screen in the daylight Be Safe  .

Here is my sunshade for iphone 6S plus, the size of a sheet of paper with some added piece on the bottom, made of thin cardboard and velcroed onto my phantom 3 standard.

HMD when I have a spotter or if alone I use the VR googles with Iphone inserted with AR so I can see drone with iphone cam.  I have a couple of commercial sun shields but none really work well. the innovative ones people posted look good.   Maybe we need  those head mounted umbrellas :-)

Thats cute. I was thinking about a doll umbrella over the phone (desperate I know) but I didn't have one
around the house.

This subject comes up often, the problem is the angle of the hood. It must be steep enough to avoid your reflection. A commercial hood that works well is the PadHat by HoodiVision.. You can also make your own (see the photo).

Before this "FX-Antireflex" version I tried the "FX-Antireflex-HD" variant, which keeps the resolution impression a bit higher but at the price of a much higher reflectivity. The "FX-Antireflex" version really smoothens out any bright light source (sky, clouds, sun, lamps etc.) by spreading it evenly. This reduces overall contrast but the days when you could only see yourself on a high contrast but "100% mirroring" display will be gone...
