Just wondering whether anyone can tell me whether the development tools will work with Mavic. I teach computer science, and am going to buy a DJI quad for my class to teach them programing. I was going to get a Phantom 3, but with the announcement of the Mavic am thinking that its portability might be handy (the phys ed department will also be using it to get aerial footage of some of their games.) But I don't want to buy it if I can't build apps that interface with it.

Not to sure about development tools but there are plenty of interface apps that work P3 P4 and I'm sure there will be plenty for Mavic, two apps you can look at Litchi,Dronepan..

Thanks @hallmark007. Have Litchi for my P4, but what I need is development tools. I teach computer science grade 12 and want my kids to build an app for a quadcopter. Will need one that I can get API's for.

Yes, there is an SDK for DJI quads.
