Beautiful!  How was the battery life?

Also, I see a lot of lense flare, especially at 3:49.  Did you have the gimbal guard on?

There is something strange with that footage. Left side is crisp/sharp, right side is blurry. Protective dome? Still has plastic on the lens?

I just noticed that same thing too, especially in the last 2 minutes.

same here, i hope it's "just" the protective cover being on that's causing this blurriness on the right side and the flares.
The left side looks amazing though, and colors also look fine. Thanks for sharing!

...other than that, i wouldn't dare flying over streets with cars, parking lots and other people's houses -
even if it's permitted where you live (i don't know). Just seems a pretty bad idea to me...

The right side is due to the sun directly hitting it from the Right Side. In my 2nd video this didn't occur.

It's solid. Didn't try to fly more than 15 minutes though

Sorry to tell you mate, but you have an decentered lens.

The flare on the right was noted when we were testing with the protective cover left on.  The OP says it was off.  Note that DJI and others will have ND filters available which will also help.

Yeah the right is not focused properly in the 2nd half of the video for some reason.

Does updating the Firmware fix anything? I didn't update the Firmware before flight.

We have tap to focus with center weighting.  We also have the option to do manual focus.  We don't know what was done or how the camera was set up.  It is odd that it was focused on one side.  If it was focused on the right side and then moved  it could make that happen.  We need more information.

The right side has the sun hitting it from the top. Would this be the cause? My 2nd video doesn't have any issues --- I didn't point it towards the sun.

Pause the video at 5:50, you are pointing away from the sun. Lokk at the four houses in the foreground, the one to the left are in focus, but houses to the right are blurry.

Well, if he doesn't have the plastic guard mounted, we maybe seeing the first RMA for the Mavic. Lol.

That would suck. You're one of the first to get it but you are also the first to have to send it in for repair.

He isn't the first, there is a guy with a lost screw inside the Mavic and possibly a guy with a broken Gimbal.

Left half of the video is in focus.  Right half of the video is out of focus.  The sensor or lens is mis-aligned.  This camera is malfunctioning.

"Broken gimbal guy" has his Mavic sitting on deep carpet...  He didn't respond back after it was suggested to put it on a table.

you town is beautiful

it has nothing to do with sun angle, left side is sharp and right side soft throughout the entire clip. (stop at 0:08 and 0:19)

If the lens cap really was off (where did you state that?) it's either a misaligned lens or an issue with stabilizing the gimbal.

Lens misalignment would be bad, that's a hardware thing - given how small that cam & gimble are you'll unlikely be able to fix that yourself.
If it's a stabilizing issue, it could(!) be cured with a firmware update. So i hope for you it is the latter.

(putting on an ND filter will certainly not help - no matter whether it turns out to be a misaligned lens or SW problem.)

Thinking about it... i really hope the DJI techs designed the stabilization SW with possible ND filters attached in mind...keeping my fingers crossed! ;)

I'm sure the focusing issue will get figured out.  To me, besides the great looking landscapes, what struck me the most was the absolute rock-solid stability of the camera at all altitudes.  Absolutely beautifully smooth!

The stability is unreal. Very excited to get one of these in the future.

Awesome video I live in Draper on Sun Crest. I ordered the fly more combo. Maybe we can meet half way when my mavic arrives.

So on the second video, did you tap to focus in the middle of the picture?  I haven't received my Mavic yet so I have lots of time to gather tidbits of info .... such as where to tap to focus.

No i just didn't tap anything. It focused by itself.

Could it be a bit of Grease or fingerprints on the camera what produced the results of the First video? Did you clean the camera after the First video?

I didn't clean it - like I said, I clicked to focus on my iphone which most likely caused the issue in the 1st video.

Beautiful area. But im curious about its max range in the real world.

I was impressed how the Mavic transitioned from light into shade. I'm going too really enjoy using my Mavic on my photo trips. Thanks for sharing.
