I had the mis-fortune of updating my P4 RC to the v1.8 firmware, now the P4 is basically usless to me because of terrible video, pixelated and green bars make flying the P4 virtually impossible because i cannot see the live video feed.

Everything was perfect before the v1.8 firmware update.

I have read the rolling back the RC firmware to v1.6 would fix the problem.

Problem 1)
When i hold the 3 little bars for 5 seconds and try and automatically roll back the firmware it tells me there is no firmware to roll back.

Problem 2)
When i try and roll back the firmware via usb i get the following error;
C1_FW_RESULT log give me:
====================
Packet: /mnt/usb/C1_FW_V01.06.0000.bin,
Upgrading ...
Result: Failed
Reboot the remote controller and try upgrade the firmware again.

and the C1_FW_LOG gives me:

When i view the about box in the DJI GO app (v3.1.0), i only get this:
App version - 3.1.0
Version is blank
Remote Controller is N/A
Flight Controller is blank



Please advise and can someone link me to the official P4 RC 1.6 firmware as the one i got i think is not for the P4 (C1_FW_V01.06.0000.bin)

May I know where you downloaded RC 1.6 firmware? Do you still remember the current aircraft firmware version?
Before upgrading RC, there is no problem for image transmission, right?
Please try to connect your mobile device to RC with USB cable and make sure Internet Network is working great, then check whether you can upgrade it to V1.8 or not.
Besides, what's the RC firmware before upgrading it to V1.8?

Before upgrade everything was perfect.

I tried what you said in regards connecting RC to mobile device but nothing prompts to update. I had trouble from day one with no prompt for firmware upgrade.
I never upgraded the RC since i bought the P4 back in June so i assume it was v1.6 on the controller.

When i try and upgrade now via USB, it tells me it can't because the version on the controller is the same version. But the P4 is still unusable because of terrible video feed. And i can't tell what version the controller is because DJO GO doesn't display it and only shows N/A.

OK, so for some reason this evening, i decided to give it one last try. When i connected the controller to the phone and selected the downgrade firmware option it did list v1.6.0.

So now when i check the about box i get the following info:

App - v3.1.0
Version - 01.02.0602
Remote Controller - v1.6.0


So is this the current setup apart from the RC version?

There are quite a lot of people having this problem with 1.8, including me, and quite a number of posts about it too. I made a video showing the issue and how it is resolved when you go back to 1.6.

What version of Go App are you using now?

Mine was the same also in regards when the RC had v1.8.0 it displayed as a P3 Pro when i managed to roll back to v1.6.0 it recognized it was a P4

@Natalia - I took it for a flight this weekend and everything is ok again, the confidence is a little less with it, but that will come back with time i hope.
