Do the PC ground station, A3 support ?

DJI company who is not responsive?

The original PC Ground Station has been discontinued for some time now, it will not work with the A3 or any of the newer flight controllers. There will be a new Ground Station system that will work with the A3 and N3 system when used with the DRTK and Datalink Pro.

The Datalink Pro does need to DRTK to function when it's trying to process precision GPS data. When you are using DIY crafts and the M600, you would need to have the DRTK with the Datalink Pro in order to use Ground Station.

Why did you start this beta testing if you are not going to deliver a Groundstation without the need of a DRTK and Datalink Pro ?

Hi Jamie,

This is not made clear in the advertising which shows D-RTK, GS and Datalink as separate components, all with compatibility with A3? If they need to be used together then they are not separate components and to say the least, this is very misleading. Why are dealers advertising it as a separate component if it is useless on it's own?

I do agree that the DJI Website can make this more cut and dry. One can only infer that you cannot use one without the other based on the quick start guides and that they can only be purchased together via the Store section. The DRTK and the Datalink Pro do have specific functions that warrant their own product pages, but they work together in order to provide stability and accuracy that is used for industrial solutions and mapping programs.

I unfortunately cannot speak to how dealers are marketing the RTK and the Datalink Pro. They shouldn't be selling the components separately, unless it's for spare parts purposes.

You would need to have the RTK with the Datalink Pro in order to use Ground Station with an A2/LB2 DIY combination.

For the P4, I believe that it's built into the center board since you can use the basic waypoint option without any extra components for autonomous flight. At the present time the A3 needed LB2 in order to perform the waypoint function, which meant that it was already hardware dependent. Ground Station will be more advanced than 'waypoints' and needs the beefier hardware for more intricate work. I'm not participating in the P4 Ground Station BETA testing myself, but I would speculate that it's not going to have the exact same functionality as the Pro System rigs.

Just to provide some parallel, the P2 was able to use the old PC Ground Station but it did not nearly have the same functionality as when the program was used with and A2 or a WKM. It didn't have access to photogrammetry or some of the other intricate options that it offered.

The LK900 has been a discontinued product for some time. It is not supported by the A3.

After further digging into this discussion, I have found that the Ground Station program will be connecting to the flight controller itself and not the Datalink itself. So for those of you that do not have the DRTK and Datalink Pro combination, it will not be a conflict for you.

I sincerely apologize for the initial misinformation.

That's correct. The connection to the Ground Station app will strictly be done via the flight controller when it comes out. So if a stand alone A3 DIY craft or a M600 does not have the RTK/Datalink, then it will still connect. The Datalink Pro still needs to work together with the RTK for precision accuracy, so I still do not see the Datalink as a separate usable component. If it does become a purchasable item, it would most likely be as a spare part for repair purposes.

Problem with this software is that it does not recognise the zenmuse z15 GH4 so no video feed and no automated gimbal operation.

There are applications via SDK that could be used with the A3, but I'm not well versed on SDK and the apps that have been made with it. I would recommend taking a look at the Developer community and you may find something that could work for you. They even have their own Forum for those that are specifically using this function:

If you refer to Post #20, I was able to verify that buying the DRTK is not needed. You do not need the DRTK unless you plan on having improved hovering precision and interference reduction.

There still isn't a release date available for DJI's Ground Station. There are a lot of 3rd party app out there that were generated via the mobile and onboard SDK. The UGCS Ground Station system they provide may be suited if you're looking for something more immediate to use, I just can't really attest to their effectiveness since I have not used these 3rd party apps myself.

There is a simple bonus with 3rd party solutions based on the sdk. I don't have to dive in with my M600P to test them. I can test on P3P and I1 to make sure they work and get used to the interface. That's what I did w/ Litchi and it worked out well small steps to check before the big leap on the big bird.
