Took a flight today and used my iPhone 6s for the first time rather than my iPad, after 6+ minutes of flying with no issues the iPhone shut down completely and I could not get it to re-engage with the DJI Go app, everytime I restarted it, it would shut down again. I had to use return to home feature (glad it works) and bring the Aircraft down but could not use the iPhone at all. Anyone else run into this issue. Quite disturbing

A very real reason to not fly out of visible range! Thankfully the RTH didn't fail on you as well. Glad to hear you got it back.

There's another thread about this somewhere and it appeared that the issue might be more at Apple's end than DJI's. Apparently the 6s had a recall due to battery issues?

Hello snath, please try to reinstall the DJI GO and test it again. Please ensure that you do not have any programs running in the background.

In addition to Mindy's advice, what OS version are you running on your iOS?

Must be a bug, All I have to use is my 6S since it seems the android connections don't work. I've flow many times with it and have had no issues. I have apps running in background and I do nothing special other than plug in and open the app. Check the phone, reboot, remove app and reinstall. Maybe there is a conflict since it normally sees a ipad?

Some have reposted this while flying the Mavic and using the iPhone 6S device.  I did some testing using the iPhone 7 and did not have any issues. iOS 10.2 and Go App 3.11 / Go App 4.02 using the Mavic

After trying the suggestions by Mindy and Jamie and if you are still having trouble, I would check with Apple regarding a defective battery in your phone. They have been failing on the 6S

I only use the iPad with my Inspire 1

The only other thing that I can thing of is if you don't have a lot of space left on your device or using a lot of the iOS equivalent of RAM space, then that could cause issues in general.

Actually I run into the same problem today - I flew the Mavicc for  about 10 mins. Then suddenly my iPhone 6 went black. It rebooted but went black again. Luckily I was able to land my Mavic. The root cause seems to be related to the outside temperature ... it was about 1 degree Celsius. After a few minutes in my pocket the iPhone recovered to normal operation. It seems that iPhone 6 / 6s has an issue with low temperatures. Next time I will use my iPad mini

I just found out that my iPhone 6s has battery recall and will do that and then re-test it. My battery got depleted really fast with the usage in flight.

Are you having the battery issues the recall is covering? My wife has a 6s and it will turn off at about 28%. We'll plug it in, and the phone starts right up and shows 28% remaining.. We don't fly with her phone, lol. iPads or my 6S plus.

Apple has a serial number list for the bad batteries in the 6s here:  https://www.apple.com/support/iphone6s-unexpectedshutdown/

Many iPhone 6S users have reported this and I am glad you are able to get this fixed
