I can't find any info about sound recording with Osmo Pro. Does X5 can record the sound? What format?

that's actually a good question, I have some audio problems that might be somehow tied into the format. My audio sync is drifting away from the video in a very weird way, seems to me that the format of the audio and the video (4k) are running at a different rate, I can't for the life of me slip the audio in any direction and find sync, the manual specifies 48khz AAC, good enough audio, and I feel it sounds quite good if you use an external mic.  I will post another ahead specifically about this, but wanted to ask you if you already own an Osmo, if you experience anything like this.

I'm planning to buy Osmo for my X5 gimbal (I have Inspire 1 Pro), so I need to know if I have to buy external audio recorder too or X5 records a good enough audio

I guess that all depends on what you intend to record, I've been recording spoken voice in more or less challenging conditions, in moving cars and outdoors using a lev mic sometimes through a wireless setup, and I find it acceptable. without an external mic it is not very pleasant as the internal mic introduces a bunch of static noises in addition to picking up all noises from the gimbal motor and fans.the X5 is not whisper quiet to be sure.

Ok, thanks for yor explanations. What's audio bitrate? Is it stereo or mono?

I believe is single channel at 48K

"MediaInfo is a convenient unified display of the most relevant technical and tag data for video and audio files". Free and multiplatform (Win/Mac/Linux/etc.) app. Using it you can find out almost everything about your media files.

just as easy to look at the FCPX inspector
