hi, i was wondering if it would be possible to fly higher than 500 meters?i know it's not allowed because of the laws, but anyway it would be possible to reach a higher altitude than 500 meters?
and if it would possible, how?

500 meters is always relative to your takeoff location.

Carry your Mavic to a base camp at Mount Everest and takeoff. Climb to 500m and you will certainly be higher than 500 meters above sea level!!!

But regardless, 500 meters is 1640 feet. Few places in the world can you safely fly to that altitude above your takeoff location.

There is a limiter on your AC at 500 meters, most countries in Europe are max 120meters by law and I'm sure it's the same in Italy, but without limiter Mavic can fly 6400 meters, but as a consumer drone I don't envisage this ever happening. You can see a lot from 120 meters.

DJI aircraft are limited to 500m altitude from your takeoff point.
It's default is 120m,but adjustable up to 500m.

For those in the US, you are allowed to fly 400 ft above an obstacle, such as a building or rock formation, so the maximum altitude should be set accordingly.

The 500m internal limit is a flatland approach. The law, at least around here say something different. The law in many countries in the EU says 120m above ground. Here in Switzerland it is 150m above ground in habituated areas. Above ground. Ground moves with the location. So going up a mountain and let it fly for a few hundred meters horizontally can easily make 1000m above ground. Whereas the 500m limits me flying up a mountain slope to 500m.

the farm I was living on was 1100 feet above sea level only had to go to 30metres and I could see for miles and miles, we were at the highest point in that area, living off grid.
