we race all day and the last race of the day is the demolition derby

Looks like crazy fun!  Demo derbies are usually in a figure 8, aren't they? More interesting in the middle.

All the ones I have ever been to are in a large open arena where the cars are lined up along the outer edge and then it's a free for all, last car standing wins.

We call that a demolition derby here in the US
