Will the Phantom P4 charger also charge the Inspire 2 remote control?

I see that battery in both has the same spec's at 6000mAh LiPo2S, but is the plug a match?

The flight battery is 15.2 volts in the P4, and 22.8 volts in the I2 so that won't work for charging those, but I'm just interested in the transmitter/RC part to charge the 2nd Inspire 2 RC unit as I already have the P4 charger and could speed it up if it'll work.

I tested the P4 car charger and it worked.

Yes, it works (the reverse too). You can also use batteries to charge the RC if you have the requisite adapter.
