Hi there just got my Phantom 4, charged battery and controller, fired both up but all I get is dsconnected.

Is there a setting I am missing?

Does the APP show 'Disconnected'? This  error means the remote controller is disconnected with the mobile device. Please perform the following steps to troubleshoot this issue:
1. Check whether your mobile device is on the Recommended Device on http://www.dji.com/phantom-4/info#downloads.
2. Check whether the mobile device is connected with remote controller.
3. Change different USB cable.
