Is there a real need to disable the vision sensors if the flight will always be greater than 30' higher than the surface of the water.  In this case, the flight will be within an ocean entrance channel and adjacent wetland waterbody?

No. I fly over water often and never turn off the vision sensors.
From all I read here and on other forums, as long as you are above 30 feet, they have no bearing on anything anyway.
