Seen the pano feature mentioning 3x3 only?? Is this true?. This seems a little software crippled to me. Gimbal can shoot in all directions etc so why stop there? I can even shoot a 360 sphere on my Mini3Pro..
A capable camera on a gimbal with little nodal differential could yield some good results..
This would make it interesting to me (i have other 360 cameras and RS3 which can also shoot & calculate 360)

Would love to see DJI add 360 capability in an upcoming firmware update.

No, the gimbal cannot shoot in all directions.  Its range of movement is less than the Pocket 2 - and certainly is not 360 degrees of pan.

product manual states:
Mechanical Range
Pan: -240° to 63°
Tilt: -180° to 98°
Roll: -220° to 63°

so if I do my numbers that means total range
Pan: 303
Tilt: 283.

a full sphere would be 360x180 equirectangular 2:1 coverage.
Lens is 20mm equivalent thus having a viewing angle of 85/61 degrees.
I am confident that with those parameters a complete sphere with sufficient image overlap should be possible.

That is mechanical range.
Motor controllable range is a bit smaller than that.
293°
190°

However dji can try utilitize wide-angle adapter to extend the limiting reach

Yes correct. But if the software is doing the work (controlling the camera) then there is no need for human interference / error / buffer, hence I'm pretty sure the mechanical range will be the effective range

Even in controllable range, 15mm wide-angle adapter could cover sphere in 4 x 3 panorama.

Why is this important? Why do I want this?

Because If I do my calculations right, (given a 20mm lens having a viewing angle of 85x61 degrees)
using the 5:4 imaging sensor bringing 3840 x 2160 (cropped from 3072)
would be 360/85=4.235x3840 = 16262x8131 equirect ~ 132 MP. aka '16K'.
This could be good.. if it was RAW, AEB stacked, HDR or similar.

HI AVsupport
We considered 360 photo, However the gimbal needs shoot about more than 20 photos, which take too much time for a people to hold.
what use case do you need for this?

I understand that.
Typically in such a situation one would use a monopod / lightstand / etc.
This is  to use this as a high resolution 360 camera. I do virtualtours and quite often dual fisheye cameras max out at 8K stills which isn't really enough in VR.I use my M3P in a similar fashion, in the air.
Alternatively You could implement a user interface similar to Ronin Rs3 (and include the bottom)
