My Pocket 3, after about 7 hours of combined usage no longer charges (after the last firmware update). I've tried multiple cables (including the DJI one) and different chargers (that all work with other devices).
The Pocket 3 simply does not react to any of them. It doesn't light up, it doesn't charge (there's still power, so I can boot it up, but the battery icon isn't showing charging status), and no LED light or screen power-ups occur when plugged in.
If I attach the DJI battery pack to it, it detects it with no issues, so I presume the port is fine. If I try to charge the battery pack, the battery pack charges with no issue.
Please advise. I have this device in Saudi Arabia, and it's a pain to get it serviced anywhere. Can we downgrade the firmware somehow (I'm assuming it's a firmware issue)?
Might have no connection with your issue.
This is just a thing I've noticed.
When the Pocket 3 is between 95% and 100% charged it will not start charging.
When it dips lower it will charge.
I wish we could get a statement form DJI about the whole charging strategy and the Pocket 3's interaction with the battery. I'm curious about what is happening as the Battery Handle goes to 0%.
Folks at DJI - is there a charging document that would explain how this all actually works so we could understand the edge conditions of charging?
This will seem an odd question but is it already charged? I had something similar happen last weekend. The battery handle would charge on its own but, when connected to the Pocket 3, nothing seemed to be charging. I worked out that the battery handle had charged up the Pocket 3 without losing much of its own charge. The only thing I wasn't getting was the relative percentage charge of the two parts displayed on the screen, which I put down to something I might have inadvertently changed. Just to be sure, I let the camera record for nearly an hour following which everything seemed back to normal.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. It doesnt apply in this case since the battery was down to 30% at the time. It still refuses to charge and is now drained.

Appreciate the reply! The on camera battery is not charging from the dji extension battery pack. It occassionally attempts to (after 20 minutes of it being attached it finally responded and said it was charging from the battery pack), but it just loops and the battery level actually decreased.
Pretty frustrated with a new device out on a second use.
Update: after leaving the dji external battery connected for 45+ minutes, it seems to have imparted some charge to the camera battery (the external was drained to 0% and internal camera was at 35%). I charged the external battery separately and reattached it to the camera but was unable to get it to charge the camera battery again.
Lastly, I connected the external battery to the camera, but plugged the charging cable into the external battery and both are shown to be charging now.
The camera itself still does not charge when connected directly to the cable and power adaptor.
Hello there. sorry about the trouble. We recommend sending the unit back for repair. You can submit a repair request on the DJI Official website using this link: https://repair.dji.com/. We appreciate your patience.

Someone above has stated that the pocket 3 will not start charging when the battery is between 95% and 100% - I am experiencing this exact behaviour too, but it doesn’t seem to be documented anywhere? Can someone from DJI confirm that this is by design?
Thanks
Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.
We regret to learn of this issue. Could you please confirm whether you have attempted to isolate the problem by using different chargers and cables? Could you confirm whether the battery level indicator is blinking?

It won't charge if it's at 95% or above this may be in part because sitting fully charged is not good for battery long term.
If it's below 95% it will start and carry on up to 100%.
Disregard DJI rep asking about cables and chargers, they should know about this feature.
Thank you for this information. You are indeed correct and (worryingly) the DJI rep or bot didn’t know about the unit not charging if its charge is 95% or above.
It may be your USB-c input port which could have something inside.
As I do some electronics, I have friends who came home with their smartphone not charging, or not charging well.
So I check the current consumption with my meters (Rdtech UM34/TC66), and also I check the USB-c connector with my microscope.
Here are 3 photos:
>The 2 one from the last phone I have cleaned (smartphone inside trouser's pocket without any protection on the port... ) - about 1 hour under the microscope to remove all
(the 1rst one is before the cleaning, and the 2nd one is after).
Now this friend always thanks me because he has recovered his quickcharge function, and he doesn't need putting the cable in a certain way to charge it).
>The 3rd one is a USB-c from a Nintendo Switch Lite: impossible to fix it.
For me: I use great Ugreen Magnetic cable for all my USB device, and I don't care about super-mega-fast charging (because it is a USB-A input so no PD negocation possibility for the device, but ok for QC and other older protocol).
It is just s reply to show you some pratical case I see around me
Also, I will buy soon the Battery Handle.
I don't know if there are some guys who do some electronics in this forum ?
