Thanks so much for the details.
Would you please export the flight data and vision module data through the Assistant 2 when you got the error message?
If you have the video recorded at the same time, please upload it to dropbox as well.
DJI-Natalia:
Regarding your request for information about the Vision System Errors:
I believe I've uploaded the data from today's flights, via Assistant 2 (v8), but I did not have, nor include a case number. Instead, I used "DJI-Natalia" in the case number text box. It displayed a red X after the send flight information completed ??
Where is the DJI dropbox option for the flight's video, which you requested. I looked over the website for a link and could not find one. Does it use the same location in which the flight and vision module files are compressed?
Today was typical of this particular Phantom 4's behavior:
1 1st battery, start up, warm up, vision system error, ready to fly; shut down. Restart.
2 1st battery, restart, warm up, ready to fly, takeoff, fly around, vision system error, land, shut down.
3 1st battery, restart, warm up, ready to fly, takeoff, fly around, VSE, fly w/o VS, land, shut down.
4 2nd battery, (same as #1 above)
5 2nd battery, (same as #3 above)
6 3rd battery, (same as #3 above)
The flight (#2 above) started at 1540 EST and lasted 3 minutes. The VSE occured between 1:07 and 1:17, when the AC had reached 92 feet. I watched it hover steady, then suddenly shudder and shiver, losing it's VSE stability (I think), I looked down to see the Vision System Error on screen. I descended the AC at 1:17, right after the error occurred, and landed. Shut down the AC, restarted the AC and flew #3 above.
In 2 startups (#1 and #4), the VSE occurs before takeoff, before warmup is complete. When this occurs, I do not take off; instead I abort, I shut down and then restart.
In all 4 flights today(#2, #3, #5 an #6), a VSE occurred sometime after takeoff, during standard flight, causing a visible shudder/shiver of the AC when the VSE occurs. Afterward, the AC is less stable at all altitudes, even more unstable near the ground, indicative of a failure of the vision system. Also, before the VSE occurs, the green collision avoidance lines sporadically appear and disappear, when there's no obstacle to be found within 100 yards of the AC (My guess: This error appears to be caused by a either a software glitch or a hardware open/short circuit, either one causing a flag to be thrown(raised) under false pretenses-an aeronautical false alarm. Either that, or the VS has the ability to see ghosts).
During the 3 minute flight(#3above), the camera never faced the sun. It was mostly cloudy, 68 degrees F, winds less than 6 knots, slight humidity, open field, brown grass and dirt below.
Latest AC and RC firmware versions. Controlled with DJI Go 4.0, using Samsung SM-T337a tablet, Android version 5.1.1
No crashes or hard landings, in 79 flights (and counting).
Thank you for taking a serious look into this. Let me know where to access the DJI dropbox, so that I can send the video file of the flight.
(Also, I've answered your questions in reply using this thread, but I fear I've come perilously near the hijack boundary. Let me know if I need to start a new one.)
Keep Smiling,
