Right after updating my Phantom 2 to 3.12 software I've noticed problems with entering the compass calibaration mode (I could only do so after flicking the S1 button up and down for like hundred times) and after a day I realised I can no longer access it at all. After some checking, I've noticed that in Phantom 2 Assistant app the "U" channel does not change it's value when I switch S1 to top (default position), whilst it works in any other position (showing 0 value in the middle and 778 when down). I've tried to dongrade to older software (3.08) but the problem still remained, so I think this clearly points to some hardware related issue. It's pretty serious, as without it I can neither fly in GPS Naza mode nor calibrate the compass.
Since I have a lot of filming to do I'm not keen on sending it to be repaired now unless it's 100% necessary, so hence my question: has anyone exprienced such issue? Any tips? What else can I do prior to claiming repair under warranty? Is there any other way to calibrate the compass (maybe some other combination)?

Also DJI, should the issue remain, please let me know where I could place my warranty claim in Poland other than via my dealer (EURO RTV), as I really need my Phantom up and running as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

It sounds very much like your switch has failed,

I just pinched this from the PPF forum

These are fairly common SP3T switches (center off) and available in electronic parts shops like Radio Shack or even RC & Hobby Shops. Here's the thread where another PV'er replaced his:

Did you check the calibration (re-calibration) of the switch (S1) after update?

Calibration (re-calibaration)? Can the switches be calibrated as well?

You can still hook controller to computer and watch the switch move on the screen to see if they do work properly.

You can initiate the compass calibration from the Vison app, settings menu.. Hope that helps.  Saves wear and tear on the S1 switch too!
