Has anyone else had issue with using this port? I recently purchased a tablet dock and figured thats what it was there for...ive resorted to using the top left port into female usb which seems clunky.

Yes I have an ipad mini 4 and cables came with it were not long enough. So I used a 3 foot cable plugged in there till I got the right length. Plug in 90 degree on both ends needs to be about 8". Want to plug in on right side then need about 12"

You can't have cords plugged into both ports on the remote. It's either one or the other.  If you do have both ports plugged, then the one on the side will work and the bottom one won't .  So if you want the bottom port ( USB) to work, then make sure the one on the side is unplugged

Tried unplugging standard phone port and that makes other devices work but doesn't like tablet...the tablet acts like it's charging instead of tethering
