I have been getting up to 55 mph in sports mode. Last friday I was flying and put myn P4 in sports mode and the fastest that it would go was 7 mph. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you know how to fix it?

Were you low to the ground?  Mine won't go fast when it is 5-6 feet high.

why not get a racing drone? these craft are mainly designed to take good aerial videos and photos...

No I was around 50ft up.

Maybe it's trying to balance things out, don't know anyone was regularly getting 55mph lol.

They are also designed to fly faster in sport mode. I for one don't care for racing drones but I do prefer the machine I purchased deliver on the advertised features.

There is a chance you were not actually getting 55mph unless you had a nice tailwind. As others have suggested though, because you were not flying closer to the ground, I have no theories as to why your P4 is flying so slowly.
