Today I was flying like usual then took it out a lil bit then all of a sudden I lost video feed.  I hope it was just because I was in my garage, which I never fly from in there. The only reason I was in there , was the sun was beaming down on me and I couldn't see my screen.

Inside your garage could effect signal from remote to AC, not a good idea, also with antennas in the vertical position your spark with plenty of height and good Los from RC to AC you should get better distance.
You can also get magnetic interference particularly from electronic garage doors in your RC so be careful , can buy a hood for your phone dji or Amazon there are many around and not expensive.
