Today, after I upgraded firmware of Spark and Controller successfully. Now, I can activate video recording by Hand Gesture " |/ " perfectly.
However, Active Tracking by Hand Gesture "\|/" is not working anymore as it was in the previous firmware version.
At now, I have to connect the smarphone to AC and then manually draw a square on screen for active tracking .

For me it is the opposite. Everything works fine except the the new one arm gesture... Any ideas?

Have you tried video record without connection with Smartphone and fly Indoor (no GPS) ?

I tried it with and without connected Smartphone. But only outdoors.

tried video gesture with spark only. (no smartphone/RC)

1. normally video works fine
2. doesn't work during "Away and Follow mode" which is very important.
I usually takes video using active track, but gesture video seems doesn't support active track.. so dissapointed

I tried it only after the away and follow gesture. Why do I want to start recording with 70cm distance to my head??? Come on Dji...

Can you wave the spark away after you started recording? Anyone tried this?

This would be nice. I will try it too.
The new manual says distance must be <2m..this will be the problem after the away and follow gesture.

that seems like such a waste of time to add that gesture if you cant even use it with active track. that was the whole point of wanting that gesture.

Yes you can. Hand launch, start it recording with a gesture, wave it away and get it to follow. It's all good. A few seconds of random footage of you waving at a drone at the start but that can be edited out easily. bearing in mind it can recognise the photo gesture and the '\|/' gesture at a distance it is odd the video gesture can't be used at distance but it is an easy work around.

Thank you, this will fulfill my needs.
Hopefully dji still don’t set a hp in 0500 when gesture mode with no connected device is active. (=no 100m limit)
