I went to check the manual in the academy section of the app and it download a new version 2015-3.  The first pages show how to install the 1345s props.  Looks like further confirmation that new inspires will have new props and hopefully previous owners will get the the rumored free upgrade.

It still says version 1 but the date has changed to 2015-3 on the cover.

Yes, I see it now.

And they do have the new props in there with the clips on the engine mounts, so I guess they must be going to run with these now.

Thanks for highlighting this, appreciated.

free sets would be nice ... I did find them at a dealer and ordered 4 sets of two props with the yeller stripes , and three sets of two quick release mounts .. Not doing the maybe deal and waiting forever again if they decide not to hand them out free...just like the phantoms and the new props they made but never gave out for free.... It was  Just another upgrade as time passed .

Ed,

This is a very Positive decision from DJI, to issue the new props.

Just for clarity, does that include the hold down clips you screw into the engine mount ?

I checked with my dealer and they said DJI will be shipping six 1345s props and four prop installation kits.  Should be shipping out free from dealers sometime around mid-April.

Ed,

That is a really good decision for DJI.  The system looks real easy.

So do the mounts just screw into the engine mounts or does DJI recommend using some locktite on the threads.

I would use a little blue loctite and I mean a little.  I like the gel and use a toothpick.  That is all you will need.

Thread locker blue 242 will work fine and you will still be able to undo it again.
DONT whatever you do use the red or retaining compound or you will break your screwdriver and probably your wrist trying to loosten it afterwards!!

It's fine. I use it on my helis every day.
You just want the tiniest amount though on a couple of the threads applied with a toothpick.
Any more and it will wick down the threads.

As it turns out I got my Inspire replaced under warranty and it came already fitted wit the new e800 props, ready to go.  No extra screws though.

Ed  or anyone recommend some glue that will stick to the foam inside the case.  The velcro pad for securing the straps for the props keep coming off.  Tried using super glue but still won't stick to the foam.  Not sure what other glue would be suitable.

I just received a shipment of quick release props from B&H... I received 5 sets... I think 2 of them were sets I ordered originally with the inspire and they sent the new ones instead... I assume the 3 extra sets are the free ones supposedly promised... Problem is they just sent the props... I have no way to attach them to the birds... am I missing something?

Just got off the phone with UAV direct where I purchased my second inspire... They said they received the props but they did not receive any connection kits.. they are holding off shipment until the whole package is complete.. Makes perfect sense to me... Hopefully B&H will not forget to send the rest when it comes in.
