Hi there!

Is there any way to charge Spark battery outside the drone itself using powerbank or car charger?

Lets look at situation, I have 3 batteries, I have hub and I can charge them together in one time, but only at home or with car invertor. So here I am, at the street, flying my Spark and one battery is dischared, what can I do? Discharge other two batteries and go home? Or set my self in the car and wait for charge? Or connect my drone to powerbank and wait for charge?

I think we need kind of adapter witch allow to connect battery to powerbank just via simple USB cable.

Did somebody find dat on Aliexpress?

Thanks!

You are awesome dude!

But that thing look not so good, two cables, one adapter.

Why DJI doesn't produce dat type of accessories, just cable USB - Battery for 29.99

Does anyone have a pinout for the Spark battery so I make a similar device?

Because you need a voltage of 13.05V to charge the battery.
This is why you need a StepUp converter from USB 5V. Only a cable won't work.

This adapter will do the job.. plug your powerbank into to converter and the battery into to converter.

Yes-yes, I understood, I'm saying just about how it looks like. Maybe we should wait for our China friend and there will be more accessories. It can be solid cable where converter is built in fat USB, so we will have ONE piece not three separate details.

What about 12V, a lot of powerbanks can give 12V/1.5A output.

When using the DJI charger to the spark, it outputs at 8 volts. My powerbank charges the Spark at 5v. Does this mean the Spark itself has a boost converter itself to charge its battery higher than 8v or 5v?

Yes, the spark has a build in step up. This is the reason why the sparks gets so hot when charging:

Yes, a nicer packaging would be possible.
The spark supports QuickCharge3.0. So you can charge it with 12V and 18W.
But only when the battery is in the spark. When you charge the battery only you need 13.05V.

Thanks for explanation!

So, will wait for accessories, cos now there is no way to charge battery outside. The way to buy converter for car to make 220v, take hub and all cables to your vehicle is a little bit weird. And your car can't be always nearby
How about to buy second spark as charging station?

I have replied on another post:
https://forum.dji.com/thread-109341-1-1.html

It take longer time to fully charge a battery, and it is quite hot when charging in progress.

I don't know why DJI adds microusb to it's charging hub but you can't charge batteries via it...

What about something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4H ... _encoding=UTF8&th=1
This would charge more than one battery at a time if used with the charger that comes with the fly more package.

I come from the home built, hobby grade drones. We just use a lager Lipo to field charge our smaller ones. With a balance charger of course. There's probably a way to rig this up
