Ok..so that's what the key is used for....... . How does this increase the flight time? Does the battery power get released slower to allow the extra 160sec?

You put tension on the build in spring by turning CW (Clock Wise)
Theoretically it could fly without battery with enough tension on the spring.
But don't go over 180 as the spring can snap. (Read the warning)

Hi Dave,
Don't be fooled. Keep the spirit up, as i do with this thread.
Cranking the Inspire1 is mechanical, so no firmware needed. No updates !
Maybe a more stronger spring to crank up would be nice.
Cranking up is like using a TB49. (Extra flight time  TB47 versus TB48)

I test flew the new C version yesterday and got a 26 minute flight from the TB47. I think its the new variable pitch props on the E900 motors. I reckon when I crank it up too it will be closer to 30 minutes. Great camera angles too when flipped inverted.

Very intresting Dave, clever move.
If you inlist into the beta-testing program, i give you some more feedbacks on the cranking.
Please keep this forum posted on how much flytime you achieve flying these variable pitch props after cranking. I remember now: acronym for these props is VPP or am i missing something

What are the differences between the C and the original? Is there a designation  some where to tell you what version you have?

Mark whatever you do, don't remove that tape holding the cranking band on cos you'll void your warranty.

You can tell if you have the new "C" designation by the variable pitch propellors and the new motors. There is also a modification to the front 2 foofoo valves for better airflow. Don't swap them to the back as the bird will lose orientation and may fly away!!!

Dundee, I think that I read on one of your earlier posts that you have a background in programming? I am just wondering with your experience, what have you set the low cranking warning percentage to on the app??

My informant at the factory says the color of the rescuepod was deliberately done this way to avoid any suspicion during the testflights. It will however come in matching color to the Mothership when delivered.

I would not recommend that you play with the motor angle.  These motors are adjusted to a precise setting +/- .5 degrees.  While you may increase flight times you may also be sacrificing flight characteristics and stability.  You are also placing additional stress on the worm drive which could lead to premature failure.
