Hello,
I have done yesterday with my Phantom 4 a firmware update with the DJI 4.0 APP. First it worked well, but suddenly the app crashed and now the RC is neither recognized by the DJI Assistant 2, nor can I connect the Phantom 4 to the RC. The Phantom 4 I could update via DJI Assistant 2.
Please help!

What mobile device are you using? Had you tried to relink the drone and the RC? Please try to reinstall the app and relink the drone and RC.

I have never seem DJI Assistant 2 recognise the remote controller?
Only recognises the aircraft as far as I know.

What firmware level is the controller at?

Yes, DJI Assistant 2 will not recognize Phantom 4 RC. Upgrading only available via DJI GO 4 app for RC.

the RC firmware level is 1.2.0.12. I can´t connect my Android tablet with the RC, also I can´t update my RC over DJI Go 4.0 App. I need a other possibility. Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand you DJi Thor?

When I update my firmware to 2000106, my P4 was connected to DJi Assistant 2. At the same time my RC was turned on and updated as well.

Are you saying that the RC updated through the aircraft connected to your computer via DJ Assistant 2 ?
I would doubt that?

Have you updated your P4 to 2000106 yet? If not make sure you RC is turned on and connected to your P4 you might be surprised

I updated my P4 and RC on 06-07-2017 and never had a problem, a few hiccups maybe, but nothing significant. I have never done a separate update to my RC. (in fact DJi Assistant 2 v1.1.2-2 tells you to turn on your RC while it’s updating the P4)

You are suggesting otherwise.

One of the problems here is a lack of information from DJI about upgrading.

Let's say everyone has the same hardware but we are getting different results.
It may exist but I have never seen a DJI released instructions on precisely how to upgrade and what happens along the way and how to verify each step.  I would expect at least that followed by what calibration steps are required, especially if they change from what they were before.
I know all of this information is on this forum in different areas and contributed by different people but there is still no concise DJI released upgrade plan.  Why is this?

I have mine fully updated now and like you am reasonably happy.
I suspect the aircraft is a bit more aggressive in its behaviour and the yaw does not work, don't know if it did before?
The gimbal compensates for any rough aircraft movement.

You know it seems like they dropped the eg. Mavic firmware over the top of the Phantom 4 and hoped for the best?  Yep have all the features now but the hardware is not quite the same.

I would recommend you to reset the RC via holding C1, C2 and Shutter button to check whether it works.

As you probably realize by now, there is a new Yaw Adjustment feature with the firmware update.

There is a Yaw adjustment but it doesn't accept any offset values.  
Yaw correction is there but there is no one home.

In contrast the Roll offset works fine to correct the horizon.
