I'm not expecting P4P image quality out of the Z3, but I seem to be having signifigant issues getting a good quality image when there is a high dynamic range.

On the ground when pointed at the ground, the image is crisp with good colors.  In the air, when I've got the ground and sky in the image the sky is washed out all white and the ground is not vibrant with colors but a washed out green/brown.

What settings do I need to do to fix this?  I've tried manually running the shutter/ISO/F, but as soon as I get in the air the landscape washes out.

How about Auto mode? Will the sky be washed out?
If the camera is moved from one area to another with different exposure, you can try to lock AE, it “freezes” the camera’s exposure settings, the auto exposure system won’t change aperture/shutter speed values.

No.. it's much much worse in Auto mode.
