Here is a short compilation of some footage made with Spark in the South Tyrol area last week.

Some motion shows stuttering (like at 0:49 where the foreground element don't show smooth motion)

but yes, looks like you ran into this framerate issue with final cut pro or iMovie?

Set Framerate of your project hard to 30,
because there is an issue in automatically rate-definition!

your finals will be much smoother!!

I build the video with Adobe Premiere at 25fps. The time lapses are made with the mobile phone and the quality is poorer you're right. I add no other device on my trip
I have also noted that in some shoot you can see the shadow of the propellers, probably with the sun in front of the Spark.
I learn....

It's quite complex to works out the Spark + the post prod settings

Make sure you DONT render in 25fps!!
This is killing your 30fps footage from Spark!
Unfortunately you MUST render this in 30fps (or else Adobe will drop 1 frame every 6 frames, causing this stuttering)!
This is causing your stuttering motion more than using other sources in one edit.

Look here for an example of my 30fps footage rendered in 25fps.


Hope you still have the original footage and can make another render in 30fps!

Unfortunately Spark cannot record in 25fps at this moment. Making it useless for me, since I shoot most footage in 25fps or 50fps.

Hi Montfrooij,

You were right !!!

I checked the source file details with VLC and it told my the coding rate is 29.970034.
So I build up again the project at 29.97 frame rate. But guess what ? I got the same 'travelling glitch'.
I tried dozens of settings and codec, and fps from 24 to 30... no success. Until I found out that the sequence in which my source files are ordered was set up to 25fps.
This visibly overrides the global project and export settings.
So I change the sequence settings, I build again the project and now the result is similar to the original file, perfect ! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction

Piloting the Spark is easy. Building a nice and smooth video after that, this is the real challenge

I'll post the result tomorrow.
