Just a small report : I installed the latest iOS version from the store : now you have access only to channel 13 to 20. Previously, you had more channel above 20 (up to 32?)

This is not the only thing wrong with this version.  That is just a start.

Is it better to choose a channel manually or turn on auto?

I think everyone has been wondering about this.  Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.  I'm staying with 1.0.2 until this gets resolved.  To just remove the extra channels without explanation is concerning.

So how to delete and reinstall .02?

I am sure you would have to flash the memory (blank and reformat then reinstall the previous version) possible for a few but not for many.

Also they might have been told what to do, by powers that be.......  The end result with fewer channels, there is more opportunity for interference with all occupying a smaller dimension.  If they had the same HOTT technology like Jeti and Graupner I would feel more comfortable, but they do not.

Maybe they're just screwing Inspire owners wanting them to get a Phantom 3

I have a question for anyone. Did anyone use the Lightbridge on the Phantom? If so did you experience any of the random drop outs of video, or has DJI been using all those channels for well over a year now without knowing?

Yeah, it was at least a couple of versions ago.  There were some threads that Autumn got involved in when it first happened.

Im doubting a few less channels would make a huge difference anyway really...
Im getting a fine signal in auto mode very few if any losses and no real bad incidents so far...

Latest DJI Pilot app not only reduces channels but gives me interference and radio warning on I pad and Nexsus 7. I reverted back to 1.07 on the Droid and no more warnings.

Try this is working perfect....I already used this long time...

Change DJI Remote from 8ch to 32 ch...

The DJI remote controller only supports 8 channels officially but you can change this by changing a file used by the DJI Pilot app on your smartphone or tablet to make it support 32 channels.

If you have an Android device, do it like this:

1.Connect your Android device to your computer
2.Download the file named .DJI.configs
3.Copy the file to the root of \Android\data\dji.pilot\files on your device
4.Launch the Pilot app and you will see that the remote controller now shows support for 32 channels
=========================

For iOS devices:

1.Connect your device via iTunes
2,Download the file named .DJI.configs
3.Click ‘Add File’ and copy the file to DJI Pilot Documents
4.Launch the app and you will see that the remote controller now shows support for 32 channels

Did this ever happen to anyone with a Inspire? Facts? How many pilots got fine with a Inspire1?

And dont forget not everyone living in USA.

I dont think anyone will have problems if not flying in an area where there would be problems anyway for other reasons.

um no,  zero people have been fined for doing so, they have better things to do than go around scanning frequencies looking for people using ones they arent supposed to.  The only way this would become an issue is if you were using one of the blocked channels that was designated to some other device and your transmission signals caused it to malfunction and it was a serious enough problem to the other device owner that they started looking into why and somehow managed to find you.  Id say you have a better chance of winning the lottery and being struck by lightening simultaneously than you do of being fined for using one of these channels, lol

Someone earlier made a good point that some of those devices on the banned channels may operate intermittently.  My suggestion is that if you're willing to risk implementing the hack leave your channel selection on Auto until you know for certain nothing is out there that is broadcasting on those channels.  That way if  something goes active while your flying it won't jam your link to the AC since Auto will allow it hop to the next clear frequency.

Unfortunately it seems auto only works with the 8 channels - however until now i didnt use custom channels because I dont know if its better and I am not sure how smooth the channel can be changed in case of problem - anyway just better to have more options then less
